(NEW YORK) After rampant speculation about Target’s next guest designer—and a rumor that a collection by Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez was in the works—The Daily has learned that the retail giant has chosen Behnaz Sarafpour for a collaboration on a capsule collection. Sarafpour will launch Target’s fourth design initiative from their successful Go International series—which in the past has featured affordable clothing and accessories from Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, and now Paul & Joe. Details on the partnership remain mum, but the line will be unveiled to select fashion press at an intimate party on July 18 at Rockefeller Center. Everyone else craving Sarafpour’s designer goods at Target prices will have to wait until the line officially launches in November—or they can sample the ragamuffin chic of Paul & Joe, the British label partnering with Target this summer.
