Paw paw ointment is the best... First, apply a layer to your lips, then gently rub sugar in to exfoliate for about 20 seconds. Rinse off and massage in a little more Paw paw ointment and ta da! Smooth lips :)

Best lip products for dry lips?

I've found a great lip balm (Nuxe Reve De Miel) but I'm in need of advice on what lipsticks/stains/pencils/glosses would work best for dry lips?

I tried some lip stains (Maybelline, Benetint and a couple of others) and found those too drying, and although I loved the colour of my Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Dolce Vita) I found it pretty drying too, and didn't like any other colours in the glossier versions of that product.

Any advice would be appreciated :flower:

you might want to look into burts bees.

they have a lip balm very similar to clinique's black honey and it's very moisturizing.

my lips are really dry as well, and i really like the nars satin lip pencils, which is more moisturizing but still delivers solid color, but it sounds like that's what you tried?
the neutrogena moisture smooth color stick and clinique chubby stick intense are kind of the same, and i liked the texture of the marc jacobs love marc lip gel, but i didn't like the colors...
for something less bold, i love the fresh sugar lip treatments, which come in a bunch of shades (i have honey, rosé, and berry)...

i've been using the bite beauty agave lip mask at night for the last week (you wash your face and and put it on at light, wash off in the morning) and it's been helping...

My vote goes to Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. I also like Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters (I have 5 of these and I use them all the time) and MAC Mineralize Rich Lipsticks. These are often overlooked, but I think they're great.

The tinted lip balms? I have those in Hibiscus and Rose, they've lovely! The colour seems to wear off quite fast on me for some reason though!

Yes the satin lip was the one I tried, not the right colours for me! I did like the texture though, I'll check out the other ones you mentioned! Do you think the chubby sticks and colour sticks are best for dry lips as opposed to lipsticks and glosses? I'll look out for the lip mask that sounds amazing! Not sure where I can get it in the UK but I'll hunt around ;)

I haven't tried any of those, they look great! Thank you!! :flower:

Are lip stains generally pretty drying? I love the style of the Stila Lip and Cheek stain but I'm worried about how moisturising it is

i find that i can't wear a lot of lipsticks as they are too drying...
revlon makes good moisturizing ones that come in a zillion colors...
i like glosses but they don't last, which is why the sticks seem to be a happy medium...

i also have to echo la bordélique who mentioned maybelline's baby lips...
i have the dr. rescue formula in soothing sorbet (a bright pink) which is amazing and i love the slightly cooling sensation...

Thanks so much for explaining! I'll check those out! I have a few of Maybelline's Baby Lips, I'm addicted

I haven't seen the Dr. Rescue ones here in the UK yet but I'm really excited, they look amazing!

i'm kinda obsessed with essence glow tinted lip balm. i'm pretty sure i have this in the 'light up' shade.

it's strange cuz it feels very comforting and hydrating like a lip butter but they chose to emphasize the tint/stain aspect more than the hydrating properties, whereas most lip butters i've tried aren't actually all that hydrating!

the staying/staining power is minimal but for a cheap $1 dollar lip product i'm not gonna complain.

My sister gave me some eos organic lip balms--the shape is a bit awkward, it ends up on the skin around your lips, but it doesn't seem to show or be irritating, so I guess that's fine. So far I like them ...

Mine is Smith's rosebud salve tin. Not the tube ! The little box.
Dermophil Indien when I am in France. Love the smell.

I swear by Korres lip butter in Guava. I've tried many others and they either don't work or bother my asthma or both.

I am a lip balm junkie, I have tried almost everything out there (Burt's Bees, Nuxe Reve de Miel, EOS, Rosebud Salve, Blistex, Bioderma, Caudalie, DR.Hauschka, Kiehl's to name a few...)

Although some of them are OK for daily use (if what you're looking for is to keep your already soft lips moisturised), the only thing that helps my chapped lips is the Carmex pot.

I use it as a night-time treatment and my lips are as good as new in the morning. I always keep it on my nightstand.
