Best Sunscreen

The shotglass amount people mentioned is actually for the whole body, for your face you need about the size of a nickel to a quarter.

I found a new HG face sunscreen though...Neutrogena Pure and Free SPF 50! I'm so shocked because I have tried many other Neutrogena sunscreens and found them unsuitable for daily wear (too oily, BAD white cast, not good under makeup, made my eyes sting) even though I still wear them for sports because the protection is the best.
My Devita was really balling up under makeup too, so I grabbed Pure and Free at the drugstore and it's amazing. NO scent, minimal shine, wears perfectly under makeup, and a nice consistency. There is no white cast but somehow it brightens my face a little and makes my skin look better (I have never found a product that does this, even those that claim to!). Now I just really hope they don't discontinue it!

The only sunscreens I can use without getting a allergic reaction is Cliniderm, I´ve tried sooooo many brands but I always end up getting red bumps all over my face and body. I absolutely love the Cliniderm City Protection Sun Gel Cream SPF25 for face. It keeps my face matte and is really lightweight and inexpensive.

I really, really love the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL sunscreen. I'm so fair and it's the only one that I can wear and not get burnt.

For my face I use Clarins UV Plus. It's a physical sunscreen. I'm not a HUGE fan of it, mainly because it gives me a bit of a white mask (physical/mineral sunscreens often do) and it's hard to apply makeup over, but it's the only thing I've found so far that doesn't make my face burn.

i would say no?! :(

today i'm wearing Avene Very High Protection Emulsion SPF 50 for the first time... but i don't get it: they say i have to use 7 drops (push seven times) for face and neck... i put 2 drops on my face and it was already A LOT - almost too much?!?!?

KamenKutak,

How has the Avene been working for you? I have very sensitive skin and I want a suncreen that will not break me out and not look gready/shiny when it's on my face! I've been contemplating whether or not I should try Avene.

my only problem with this product is that you have to use so much to have a high protection...

I also used Avene emulsion spf 50 last year. It broke me out, it ran into my eyes and in the end of the day would start to "burn" on my face. I am not sure of this, but I think it has been reformulated and now is very water
resistant (thank goodness!). Avene spf 50 is for normal/combination skin and avene cleanance spf 30 is for oily acne prone skin. I used avene cleanance and it was much better for me. No breakouts and no "burning" feeling on my face. During my acne treatment last year, this sunscreen and Hyseke were the only ones that my skin could tolerate!
These Avene sunscreens leave a white cast .

I'm currently using Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30. It leaves a bit of a white residue which I don't care for. I prefer Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30, it moisturizes and doesn't leaves a white residue like Eucerin.

I'm currently using Boots Soltan face spf 50, it's pretty good I think and it only cost £9 for two tubes. It sinks in quite quickly and hasn't broken me out. It was between that and La Roche Posay Anthelios, but my cheapness took over.

i'm still searching for the perfect sunscreen... :( damn it's so hard!!

anyone tried Kate somerville sunscreen?

i'm searching for a sunscreen with very high protection (SPF 30 or higher), i would like to use it for the face, the eye-area too!! and i would like to wear a foundation over it... oh and it should be a biological/organic product...

see? there is no perfect sunscreen product for me

realy! isn't there a perfect sunscreen product??? :(

Same here! I am running out of options...tried almost every sunscreen available at the pharmacy for my skin type!

Has anyone tried Galénic fluide non-gras spf 30? I read some reviews here and people seem to like it. Some say that does not leave a white cast. Well, I only believe that a WHITE fluid european sunscreen with a spf>20 will not leave a white film on my face after I see it! Which is the colour of this fluid? White? Pale beige? Pink?

that's what I've been using but I'm not as white as her  I just wear NARS laguna bronzer on top

me neither  but i thought if it protects her realy white skin, it will work for me as well :D

I did not know that Anne uses LRP's Anthelios

It is my favourite sunscreen EVER, I use both tinted and white versions in spf 50 instead of foundation with Dr Hauschka body powder on top as it does not contain talc which would destabilise the chemical filters in the product.
