THE BILLIONAIRES' CLUB
spacer.gif
FLAVIO BRIATORE's new fashion line is strictly for the richest of the rich. Named after his glittering Sardinia nightclub, it promises to be the new must-have of the seriously extravagant – after they've secured the yacht, the helicopter and a sprawling mansion in every city they can think of, that is. "I want people to be able to recognise a Billionaire Couture item immediately," designer Angelo Galasso, who is designing the line with Briatore, tells GQ. "Nowadays, a lot of men's fashion in Italy is too much about the brand. We are trying to do something a little more original." Which means real gold buttons :o  on jeans priced at anything between £500 and £1,000, shirts for around £300, jackets for up to £6,000 and diamond and ruby-encrusted key chains – and they all arrive wrapped up in cedar-lined cigar  humidor. And Flavio, with his high lifestyle and supermodel entourage, is the perfect muse for Galasso. "With Flavio, I see someone who is proud and powerful. When I started designing clothes for him, people would stop him and say, 'Flavio, you've lost weight!' 'No, he hasn't,' I'd tell them. 'It's the cut of my jackets.'" (July 19 2005, AM)

lets talk serious kitch.. on the other hand, it could be cool
i can see the waiting list forming quick

from Vogue uk :flower:

because it is wrong. it's not based on style, aestetics or anything that remotely involves fashion, it's merely a way of wearing your money but much more blatantly. i don't have a problem with high priced items, real gold buttons, but it's not done for the sake of anything other than increasing the value of it, not the design sensibility.

I totally agree with you Meg. There's something terribly wrong when Chanel, Dior, Galliano, Prada, or Gucci aren't expensive enough for you. I mean, what is their motivation... "I'm just SO sick and tired of not being able to find a jacket for MORE than 3,000 pounds." I only wish we all such drastic problems.

John

what a loser
i'd more proudly wear a garbage bag than this sh*t

i have the strange feeling the clothes will look rather cheap than expensive

it always amazes me how big the market for tacky stuff is :o

This man has got his head too far up his own ***. I just wish there was a law that stopped people like him and celebrities from starting fashion labels. The fact that you're famous doesn't give you the license to become whatever you wish. But sadly this is not always the case.

What you guys talking about? Have you ever seen some close from Billionair?
There really cool and it's easy to wear them ... so don't talk sh*t like "what a loser" he maid more thing as you ever will do.

I think that's great, jayson!! We understood what you meant regardless of the "misspellings". No worries. Funny thing is, the words you used are only misspelled in the context that you used them. Keep trying. It's appreciated ;)

PS - you may want to watch your "French", though (i.e. sh*t) :p

Who will buy this? Unless it is seriously gorgeous I dont think any real fashionistas would give it a second look. Of course Paris (M & F) would be the spokespersons.

Who is Flavio Briatore? It sounds familiar but I cant put my finger on who he is.

So is this line already out? Is it even possible that anyone has seen it? Not that it's my thing or anywhere near the realm of what I can afford. Just curious...

Thnaks Curious :)

And by the way: There are Billionair Jeans and T-Shirt for about 100-250 Euros.
I bought them last year in porto cervo at the billionair's club, it's a realy great place to have a dinner and some fun on the danceflore.

this is seriously clothing for people who want to show everyone that they have or think they have money

who in their right mind wants to be that loud?
something i learnt from fashion school about people who wear loud clothing, its a WARNING SIGN, if you look at nature, the animals who are very brightly coloured are the ones who are poisonus or dangerous, and the same for humans, the people who feel the need to be brash and colourful and showing off are people with insecurities or trying to cover something up

He's an Italian business man and also known for his relationships with tons of supermodels. He fathered Heidi Klum's daughter & has dated the likes of Naomi Campbell, Adrian Volpe, etc. I want to say Eva has been spotted with him lately, but I may be wrong.

His business ventures include this :p, Benetton & the Renault Formula 1 racing team.

Here's his pic from Getty:
