Gucci To Start Couture Line - Gucci Première

i don't see how that dress is good. shoddy craftsmanship in the bodice.

^agree you can see it on the top of the dress too in that last pic. who hemmed that thing, Project Runway designers?

Also my issue with almost every Gucci Premiere dress I've seen - they look low quality. Some are rather nice from afar, but the execution seems to be sloppy.

it's an embroidered H&M or Zara dress you guys

if PPR wanted to do Haute Couture, they should reactivate the Yves Saint Laurent Couture atelier. even Tomas Maier and Sarah Burton do 'Haute Couture' better than Frida does.

I'm not sure who does it, but the fault clearly lies with the people who actually make the Premiere dresses, because normal Gucci rtw is never this rushed and amateurish, not in my experience anyhow. :ninja:
However, I would float off on a fluffy dream cloud if Sarah Burton were to do some made to measure gowns for red carpet appearances. :crush:

So many great dresses again, i´m really hoping that they show a collection in form of a show.

There's a feather on the loose! Beautiful dress though, the layered feathers and textures mesh well

Alright, this is really cool. I found the first couple of dresses utterly boring but this is stunning.

the craftsmanship has gone up by like 1000x since the last time i visited this thread, as shown on that feathered piece.

But I think it's an ugly dress. the feathers look stiff and the train ends abruptly. I pick up peacock vibes from the colors, and i would have liked to see a more flowy train. I think feather is an exotic material to use, and as such, feathered pieces should be extraordinary. aside from the craftsmanship itself, there's nothing special about the dress though.

this ostrich feather piece by Chanel, with its creamy color, is more romantic, soft, billowy, dreamy.

Gucci rtw itself isn't of any good score when it comes to quality and we are talking couture?come on,its been 5-6 years of seeing the same predictable designs,no way Frieda, you aint that good...

that dress on evan is just stunning. it might as well be the ONLY thing that frida ever did that i like. (if she actually has anything to do with this at all)

I've always wondered, does Salma Hayek have any input on Gucci's collections?

Okay Evan Rachel Wood's and Jessica Alba's dresses were the best of the night (though I thought the latter was Elie Saab?), but Salma Hayek's was awful, sort of trying to cling to the Deco concept of RTW.
Really impressed by the former two though.
