farren fashion said:i don't find bijan's theory of fashion wrong at all. it seems as if he puts a lot of thought into his clothing and he does his hardest to make them perfect. he doesn't simply just churn them out to make a profit or to be known as the most expensive maker of clothing. his clothes are high priced because they take a lot of time to make and are made out of the best fabrics and such not because he just decides to make them expensive.
i think he's an artist and his work should definetely be revered.
That's just ridiculous. There is a level of price that one should expect for handmade garments, but $6500 for a suit... stupid. Hell, even CDiem/LMaltieri pricing is out of control and it's at least all made in-house from the fabric on up and that's not even at Bijan pricing levels.
He's very obviously doing it for a SICK SICK SICK amount of profit. You'd be a fool to think otherwise.
Who's time is worth $6500 for a suit? Materials alone would be what... $25-50 maybe even $100 for some good quality stuff. After that, it's construction which he likely has a team do for him just like every other brand. Factor their time and salaries etc. etc., the suit could NOT cost more than $1000 on his end.
It's quite clear Bijan's stuff is not innovative or fashion forward at all. When's the last time you heard about him reinventing menswear/womenswear etc. etc? I'll give him props for establishing himself and fooling all of these middle eastern oil magnates/Texas oil tycoons into thinking what he's selling is the best there is. But in the end, they're all suckers in their own right.
