The concert was stunning. I was very close to the stage (2nd row). Everything was perfect.

The setlist was awesome, a perfect mix between songs from the new album and older songs (she sang all my favorite songs except one

The ambience was incredible. One minute she was singing “intimate” songs and everyone was listening religiously to her beautiful voice and the next it was a song with crazy beats and everyone was going mental dancing, jumping and screaming like mad.

I loved what she was wearing too. The lights were awesome. The location was perfect:

The icing on the cake (it came as a surprise for me) was how full of energy and receptive to the public she was. She was always smiling even asking the crowd to sing a couple of times. At one point someone threw a small hula-hoop on the stage and she picked it up and played with it. I’ve been to a few of her shows and I had never seen her like this. It was so obvious she was having an awesome time on stage.

Here’s a photo I took. It’s not really clear and nothing special but it is to me. I love it.

It tried to describe it as well as I could but it’s not really easy because it’s such an emotional experience. It would have been hard for me to do it even in French so it’s really hard in English.
Hope you understand what I meant to say and share.

but how did you take the first picture of the Arenes??? I mean there's noone in the "fosse"... how did you get there without anyone in it??? were you a VIP??? or perhaps your hotel was next to the Arenes???

^ I bought a ticket to visit the Arènes early in the afternoon so that I could see how it was and, you know, ask a few questions to crew members and security guards, it's always useful. That's when I took the pic.

I wish I had been a V.I.P.



C'est vrai que ça aurait été bien qu'on y aille à la même date, on aurait pu se rencontrer.
Je regrette de ne pas avoir été aux deux dates. On risque d'avoir à attendre longtemps avant qu'elle repasse en France.

b/c of the one month on/ one month off thing she says she is better rested and not fearing burn out.

Same here. I bought the CD the moment it came out and kept listening to it, but it couldn't grow on me. The rest of her work I just love love love. Her DVDs are the best music DVDs - awesome videos, awesome person...

I look like the penguin from happy feet now because I am dancing! And I know she will redeem herself! (although she never really fell from grace with me! ) I guess volta was like something she just needed to get out of her system.
