Well her people have been leaking it anytime they've hung out since they met last year, but so far he seems to be going along with it. Wonder if she broke up him and Bar.
^Hey, Daydreaming why do you suppose he has been going along with it, Leo always seemed so private, and I noticed all the leaks as well that her people have been putting out there. You seem well informed in this stuff, what's your take?
Who are we to say who dates/f**ks/hooks-up-with who?
For petes sakes, we're not little kids matching up barbie dolls, celebrities have lives too - their choices are up to them.
(Not at all a personal critique of you nita-karoliina, just a general comment on the bizarre way that the public seems to always say things like "why is X with Y?" or "A would be so cute with B")
^Oh, I totally agree with you on her PR people milking this for all they can. But they do seem to be dating. Frankly, she could do better in terms of getting a hotter and young guy. I still think Leo can be hot, but I do think when people say he's too good for her, it is because he's an Oscar nominee actor and practically all his movies makes huge amounts of money while she's... an actress on Gossip Girl? And not so much because he's more attractive than her. Which is exactly why she's in it for the PR and connections. Girl have ambitions. No doubt about that. But imo, both Bar and Gisele benefited greatly from their relationships with Leo so why should anyone judge Blake for grabbing the opportunity while she can.
If she's in it for that reason, so is he. I'm sure he's savvy enough after his years in the business to be able to control the people he's around and know what they're about. I mean there's been rumours for years that his past gfs have been beards and also rumours that he and Haas are a couple/have been a couple so stories linking him to attractive, famous women (with an agenda of their own who agree to the farce of a relationship/association) would be to his benefit

But there have been gay rumors about numerous actors including Leo for years. He's never shown much concern about if before, and he doesn't need the publicity. He always prefers to do his own thing and keep his relationships on the downlow. I think the only time he's ever even walked a red carpet with a girlfriend was the 2005 Oscars when he brought Gisele whom he'd been dating for nearly five years at the time. In general he hides his face from paps whenever he sees them around and consistantly refuses to answer questions about his private life in interviews. None of this reticence has hurt his career at all- he's extremely in demand and has his pick of roles and directors he wants to work with. So I don't think he'd take to kindly to Blake's publicists tipping off paps about their whereabouts if/when they're together. Leaking a sighting to gossip column that's got no credibility is one thing, but being followed by photogs is something else.

Honestly, now I'm starting to believe the Leo gay rumors. This is all just so staged. Paparazzi in Monte Carlo get them on Spielberg's yacht, now Portofino. If he's gay he should just come out, he's still an amazing actor. The triviality of this whole thing just makes him drop a few notches.
How can one say that he's never shown concern...do we know what he/any celebrity is like in real life and behind closed doors? As to him not needing the publicity, he's dated a high profile model and elevated a previously unknown swimwear model to more popularity than she would otherwise have had. Everyone knew Leo was with Gisele - everyone knew he was with Bar. It wasn't hidden. Call me cynical (I know I am) but I'll continue to believe what I do. He's a less overt version of George Clooney to me

^Agreed. As long as they're both single, consenting adults I don't think anyone else should really have any say in what they do or don't do. I've always found the idea of "shipping" celebs to be a bit creepy because they're real people, not fictional characters. The way their lives are portrayed in the media though is rather soap opera like and we tend to forget that it's actual people we're talking about. We can speculate but it's not fair to judge.
Based on their past behavior I would guess that if this is a relationship rather than a rebound fling/a friendship/something else, Leo would be more private about it than Blake, simply because he has been private about his relationships in the past. That's not to say no one knew about his past relationships: in today's world it would be hard not to. But he's kept his relationships as far out of the public eye as possible given his fame. As for being gay, it's possible but I don't think he is- his behavior doesn't indicate that to me. I don't find George Clooney comparisons apt either. George Clooney is 50 and has stated many times that he never intends to "settle down". Leo is 36 and has said many times that when the time is right and he feels ready he'd love to get married and have a family. The fact that he hasn't yet suggests to me that he's taking a huge decision seriously rather than rushing into it and getting divorced two years later like a lot of his hollywood peers do.
Obviously all this is based on what I've observed from the outside. I don't know anyone involved and I could be completely off base. We all could be for that matter.

The thing is, Blake and her PR team will milk anything and everything for a bit of publicity. She's truly leaving no stone unturned in her quest for stardom - and I for one dn't think she'll have any qualms whatsoever shagging an A-lister, especially when said A-lister is single, young (sort of) and attractive.
I don't think they are dating, and I don't believe this will prove to be long-term or even anything meaningful (though I could be proved wrong). Won't I be forgiven for adduming that she's shagging those who weild influence, when a nonentity such as herself whose only claim to fame is a questionable TV show which enjoys a relatively small viewership and who has not achieved even what less hyped girls like Zoe Saldana and Megan Fox and Kristen Stewart and Amanda Seyfried have can make it to the TIME magazine's list of 100 most influential people in the world and LA Times' poll of the Most Beautiful Actress of All Time (she's in the running along with the like of Jolie and Monroe) and so forth.

In my view they are following the "Gwyneth Paltrow pr strategy", except that Paltrow had at least some acting ability. Gwyneth's relationship with Brad Pitt made her a household name and now they are trying to replkicate that for Blake with Leo. It's so shocking at the similarities the HArvey Weinstein "connection", yuck.
My goodness, the Hollywood of the Studio Days did set-up romances between their stars every day of the week; maybe they really like one another and get along, it isn't surprising that two beautiful,young, single people in the same business would enjoy being together...Maybe they won't be together three years from now and maybe it is at least partly PR driven (what else is new!!), but I don't really see a huge, evil conspiracy here, either...
^I think we're just speculating and this is a gossip board, its just harmless fun. Exchanging opinions, everyone is entitled to one!I can understand why a young actress would be enamored by Leo with all his success and the potential to have their own Brad Pitt. After all, there are so few genuine movie stars these days...but he seems like such a wet noodle to me. Basic and bland...and still doing the whole 'hanging with my boys, screwing models and hiding under my baseball cap' thing seems so immature at this age.
Blake is young, very attrractive and is followed around by the paps, but imo not as much as Rachel Bilson...which is another story. So it shouldn't be surprising that because of this "supposed" relationship with Leo, the media is all over it. Given Leo's propensity for privacy, if its a real realationship, I'm sure the media access to them will become more difficult.
ETA--My question is, some of you are posting that its Blake's pr machine at work, how do you know this? I'm just curious, because it seems some of you are so sure of it, do you have inside info. or its just speculation?

Because PR is really the only possible explanation one can attribute to the incommensurate hype that surrounds her. How otherwise could she be considered in the same league as A list actresses, be named as one of the 100 most influential people on this planet and be in contention for the title of the most beautiful actress ever along with far more popular, successful, established and award winning actresses like Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman when her contemporaries like Leighton et al who haven't drastically underachieved in comparison to Blake receive not half the amount of attention or press?
Rachel Bilson can't be compared to Blake. I mean, was Rachel ever on the TIME 100 most influential list, or LA Times' most beautiful actress of all time list? What makes me deeply sceptical about Blake is that some sections of the media treats her as though she's already an established, successful actress, when in reality, she's more a TV star trying her hand at movies than a bonafide Hollywood A-lister.
It's not rocket science. Either Blake's got a stellar PR team, or she's screwing someone influential for her career to have got an unexpected fillip in the last 18 odd months.
