I also noticed some of their chanel bags also have this problem, I have seen one chanel leather quilted bag...their sale price was actually listed HIGHER than the normal retail price at Neiman Marcus!!! I just didn't know this happen all the time with all other brands and products!

YES EXACTLY! I'm going to see if they ARE allowed to do this, which I highly doubt.

I bought a tie dye Prada sweater for $550 and it retailed for $700something in the past seasons

I ordered a pair of stilettos recently. After my order was confirmed and everything they emailed me back and said that they were out of stock. And as an apology they sent me a coupon for "free shipping" on my next purchase. Get this, that very same day my shoes were online, ready to be bought! The only thing is they were about $50 more this time.  I made some calls and got to the bottom of it and finally had them ship me the shoes at the previous price. And I used the Free shipping coupon of course:D

An MSRP is just that...a SUGGESTED retail price. So really, they can say that the retail is whatever they want it to be. Prices of the same item at stores across the street from eachother can be different prices. 2 factua examples are a pair of John Varvatos cons that were $115 at the Barney's Co-Op at SCP and $95 across the way at the JV store. An Etro shirt was $285 at Neiman Marcus and $345 at Etro.

The Burberry Sepia oval frame sunglasses bluefly "retail value" is $175.00.
I know that they retail at $140.00!

Subtle but still... ***es!

Yes that is true, However, I've seen items go WELL (200% markup from High end retailers and their own Boutiques) above the Boutique price of the Designer. So that to me is ridiculous!

i've been happily buying from bluefly for years. i'm not going to stop. i save a ton.

how bout the D&G jeans i got about 3 weeks ago for 45 dollars?

this is really interesting...
i didn't realize the price markup was that bad in some cases..

i think this just serves as a reminder to be weary off all online retailers and to shop around/do your homework before committing to buying something that's supposedly a great "deal"

Right, but what about people living in the middle of nowhere like me and some other members of TFS? We got no other choices but shopping online. It's not just the price, the real problem is there's simply nothing we can buy in the town. Even the SAKS is full of cheap-looking junk and expensive craps here.

Although I have done shopping on Bluefly for only once during the last three or four years. Their stuff for men are perpetually plain and boring, not just a bit, but horribly. :(

They've been doing this for awhile. They used to have good deals, then all of a sudden they started all this deceit. I dont get it.

There is really nothing to get. I am honestly not trying to be rude, but it is a simple truth that people in this business will do what they can get away with. As long as there are people who buy it, they will do it. It pays the bills and it works for them, so they do it.
I remember at one store in Universal Citywalk, I was working there and we were tasked with changing all the prices and then labeling them as "50% off".
An item that cost the owners $1.50 at wholesale became $6.99 retail and then we had to bump up the price to $12.99 and say it was half off. This sort of thing is extremely common in retail, not just in supposed "discount" sites.

I hate Bluefly.com with all my heart

amazingly bluefly has a bag I lusted for, for over 2 years on their site, in stock, omg. I decide to get it even though it is more than two mortgage payments - I know I wont be sorry. I order it with my trusty credit card. Oh no, there is a problem processing my credit card, please try again in 30 mins. I do and the bag is no longer in stock. :censored:

This is the second time that has happened to me. What a bunch of hooey.
