One thing about Boston style I don't like - a lot of ugly shoes. :innocent:

Also, people seem to be obsessed with those hideous Vera Bradley bags, and the ubiquitous UGGs, which I absolutely refuse to buy even if my feet turn blue from the cold.

And in terms of Boston being boring and having no shopping - when you come from an area where everything closes at 9:30 and the only remotely stylish store is a Nordstrom's, Boston seems like the most exciting city in the world. I love Boston.

I agree.. Can't stand Vera Bradleys and UGGs, but I'm surprised to hear you've been seeing a lot of ugly shoes. I specifically hold off on buying shoes until I'm home (I go to school in VA and live in Boston) and can buy them on Newbury. Down between Exeter and Hanover Streets (I think) are several really good shoe places. The Steve Madden is nice, Thom Browne (not the same Thom Browne that does suits, I guess) has two store fronts, and the Jasmine Sola accessories boutique sometimes has fun sneakers, etc. There are a few more in that direction but I never remember their names.

No tax on clothing is another reason I prefer to shop up in Boston. That, and I already know where everything is. I have easy access to DC and Richmond but am completely content to do my shopping in Massachusetts.

Do any of you know the address of the jasmine sola discount warehouse thing in boston? I wanna say its near brighton but I'm not sure >.> I wanna be able to go there loads next year when I'm moved into the city.

On the note of steve madden shoes, the infamous 'stevie's slippers' at my school make me sick, yknow the ones that look like dryer lint knitted together and formed into clog slippers. -barf-

Ha I hate those too, but SM did have some really gorgeous ankle boots this winter (in addition to the sweaterclogs).

The address is indeed Allston/Brighton:
965 Commonwealth Avenue

to be honest mcgovlau every time I've been to the jasmine sola warehouse, I find that things aren't really that much discounted, or that good of stuff...I haven't been there in a loooong time but I was hugely dissapointed every time I went.

Hey guys..

I know there really aren't a lot of street style pics in this thread so there's honestly not a whole lot to discuss..

But, shopping should go in the Boston Shopping thread as it is a bit off topic in here..

Plus, I think that thread's a pretty good resource for those of us who live in/around Boston so if you didn't know about it you should check it out and contribute :p

They have better deals during the summer.
