Some of this is nice but overall it feels very weak in terms of a vision. The emerging problem with Blazy's design approach is that there are simply too many random and isolated ideas thrown in. The result is that the collections tend to lack focus and direction to the point where it all just looks like a mess.

It's just a wonderful collection. I love the balance between the conceptual level and the commercial need to sell. It works very well. Every silhouette is just on point and there's nothing I'd edit out. Not to mention that I'm so happy Blazy's debut has been such a success, with Maier's customers coming back to the brand. I'm genuinely excited to see what's next for Bottega under this direction.

It’s all very nice. And I like his work on separates. But this is lacking in an overal direction, to be honest this looks like cos with a very very high budget.

It’s very chic and beautiful but quite safe and easily disposable. He needs to inject more fantasy or humor into his work.
The accessories are great really. But while I love the idea that his BV bridges the gap between Maier and Lee’s customers, the issue would be to have BV customers consume the brand like the Maier days = Not buying the clothes.

I like this collection, the styling is good, the outerwears are desirable, the color palette that he used is nice, and it's pop and eye-catching without being obnoxious in your face like that green.
It's beautiful and commercial-ready, which is fitting for a pre-collection.

What I can appreciate from Matthew is that he is honest in his approach to BV. He isn't trying to inject a "cool factor" or hype into the house by sending out ugly gimmicks like Lee.
Bottega is one of the brands that I wish to stay "quiet" in a way. So much noise today, a brand like BV is needed.

I love this, it doesn't rely on some hype beast aesthetic to carry it. Its not too cohesive but thats what I like about it. There's still that classic Botegga DNA blended into the designer's aesthetic. Excited to see what he does next.
