Bottega Veneta S/S 2015 : Saskia de Brauw & Sung Jin Park by Nobuyoshi Araki

I think this is the first time they cast an Asian model for the campaign

TALKING TOKYO: Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki set aside his sexy and provocative edge for the spring advertising campaign he shot for Bottega Veneta, instead aiming for imagery that is delicate yet strong. “More than simply provocative, Araki’s images have a powerful honesty and human poignancy that make them unforgettable,” said the brand’s creative director, Tomas Maier. “He has his own visual language, which I was very excited to see translated to the collection.”

Photographed in Tokyo, the campaign includes a shot of model Saskia de Brauw hand-in-hand with male model Sung Jin Park. They are seen leaning against a wall in an empty urban landscape, where the overall white and gray scene is interrupted by the pop of color of a red metallic chair.

The campaign is slated to break in the February issues of international fashion titles.

Araki is the latest artist to collaborate with Bottega Veneta for its ad campaign. The label has previously worked with photographers including Ryan McGinley, Pieter Hugo, Nan Goldin, Stephen Shore and David Sims.

I love it! Quite simple, but very effective.

And even though it did take an Asian photographer to make it happen, I love the fact that finally we have an Asian male playing the lead role in a major ad campaign.

The first shot looks very Armani but the second feels truer to BV's aesthetic and is more original.

love this newer shot! i can't wait to see more if it's going to get better like this

Love the latest shot. Saskia looks stunning, more mature which I like. The guy is such an ill-fitting addition, hope he'll not be the only one for the men's line.

^ To me Saskia is the ill fitting addition. I agree with people calling her an unacceptable Stella Tennant clone.

I would have liked to see Amanda Murphy here, she was in their best campaign of recent (S/S 2014), I think she would have looked great with Sun Jin Park.

^ Had a feeling Saskia would nab the campaign, who I don't mind but more of an obvious choice. I think Amanda Murphy would have been nice or Kouba Webb, I think she fits Bottega excellently.

more asian guys for international campaigns please!

(and less saskia, thank you)

That's a great shot of Sung Jin Park. He's the star imo

i much prefer him to saskia who is not a BV girl to me

Really nice! I love the changes BV does every season.

The concepts great. Sung Jin looks great but looking at this again, Saskia, just no. I thought I was the only one who thought she's a poor man's Stella Tennant!

Love this campaign though it looks pretty tame (so far) for Araki.

I think I really like the latest shot better. The setting is absolutely stunning.
