From style.com:

NEW YORK, June 17 – Designers added a pretty, nostalgic effect to fall fashions by using bows to wrap models up like special-delivery packages. At YSL Rive Gauche, Tom Ford attached satin ties to luxurious fur stoles and jewel-colored velvet jackets worn over lingerie-light dresses, while Versace's seductive corset dresses were finished by bows just waiting to be untied.

Lacing was the order of the day at Christian Dior and Blaak, and patent leather was used for a more heavy-duty effect at Moschino. Loop-de-loops showed up on plenty of accessories, too, as everyone from Christian Louboutin to John Galliano seemed determined to just say bow.

I love this trend! It's so feminine and romantic that could be hip! Here's my fave ribbon looks and accesories:

Junya Watanabe and Lanvin

 Love the Junya dress, totaly amazing.

I have made an extra long black velvet colar-less evening coat six years ago, fastening exactly like the one from YSL but with red satin bow, it was a huge success.

As for the trend, I do like it when not signed by Versace or Galliano. Junya, Lanvin and CDG are my faves here

it is so your style, Tay! :woot:

(wow, I just sounded like a total Valley Girl  )

Beyonce wore the versace dress to the MTV music awards. Love the buttons

love bows and coincidentally i am customising a tee shirt with red satin bows

Bows are an excellent idea!

For giftwrapping, that is. ;)

Sorry, but bows aren't my cup of tea. :)

I like bows but not to an extreme.. It's cute and girly and sweet, yet I would have to say wearing a big bow around my neck would make me feel like a teddy bear!

If your gonna wear bows limit it to one thing in your outfit. If it's the dress leave it to the dress don't accesorize with bow shoes or bow bag anymore. If it's the shoes then leave it to the shoes. That's how to avoid being over-the-top. ;)

I too love the bows. I admit that everything I've been making and/or customizing for myself has involved bows in one form or another. Didn't realize it was such a trend thou
I do like.....

I like the bow trend, but only if it's done minimally. I've recently taken to tying my ponytail or updo with a little black satin ribbon, but that's enough for me. :) I do like shoes with bows on them... my friend and I have been buying them at thrift stores for a while (before bows were trendy), because they have a bit of a rococo look about them.
