I know exactly what you mean! Blonde and brunette, BB had a face like a doll, but it's hard to portray in words how beautiful a lot of extreme beauties are imo. Some women are drop dead gorgeous, but have very common hair, eye, and skin colors, are of average height, don't possess what's considered classically beautiful features, etc. For example, I think Olivia Wilde is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood right now, but besides having blue catlike eyes, she also has a large forehead and normal lips, which doesn't sound pretty on paper. Monica Bellucci has a great profile and full lips, but again, bushy brows, dark hair, regular brown eyes, etc. She has beautiful bone structure, but if you just read her stats, she could look like any Italian woman. Likewise, some people may sound pretty on paper but not be extraordinary in actuality.
I suppose it all comes down to the sometimes devastating impact of physical beauty... and how hard it is to describe on paper what one immediately reacts to in person! And you are so right about women like Olivia Wilde... sometimes, people that beautiful have features that simply sound downright odd-- BB had her bucked rabbit teeth and cleft chin, Olivia has her very high forehead and square jaw-- but somehow work for them. In fact, these "odd" features are exactly what make them so memorable and photogenic, what makes your mind kind of stick to them even after you've seen other attractive women who are just more... well... generic in person. (I'm thinking Kate Upton, that new Sport's Illustrated cover model. Pretty girl but a dime a dozen in terms of her look.)
But of course, trying to write all that down without sounding long-winded, let alone in a small paragraph about their overall image, is difficult. I'll keep trying, however.
I'm not a BB expert so I seriously have no idea what she ate or how she worked out when she was younger. However, from having gone on something of a brunette BB movie binge over the last few days, I can definitely say that she had a ridiculously flexible and athletic body way back when! She actually does some very impressive dance numbers in Naughty Girl, for example, where she's swinging off of ropes and pulleys and leaping about and so on.I'm sure I've asked this before, but I've forgotten! Anyone know if BB had any kind of diet or did any exercise when she was young? Her figure was to die for. I think if she were famous now, her body would be considered one of the best. She had like no body fat, yet she did not look malnourished and had beautiful curves without any implantation, amazing!
Although her body looked soft, I imagine she actually had to have a fair amount of muscle to her, which you can actually see in some scenes. (For example, one scene in Naughty Girl has her chucking pots at people's heads-- and damn, she actually had biceps! Small ones, but still!) So she must have had some sort of exercise regime to maintain that much flexibility and strength, even if it was only dancing regularly.
I included a cap from Naughty Girl. She had some muscle to her after all!
...
And as an apology for blaaaaaaaaaathering on so tiresomely, I'm including one GORGEOUS picture of BB from the set of Naughty Girl. (She's wearing her black show-girl's costume in this!)
It's a shame that this picture is so little known... BB is so gorgeous in it! That lovely face, those piercing eyes, that casual swagger, that swan-like neck... She could give Audrey Hepburn herself a run for the money in the doe-eyed gamine department here!
