Maybe brown is the newest new black. And for the record, I absolutely disliked the trend of tucking pants into boots. take it from me here in Houston. I think it's an absoultely... well, it shouldn't be a trend. The last time it snowed here in Houston was about 2004 on Christmas Eve (it was so freaking cool!). Why shouldn't it be a trend? It's because there's no style of point to them if you don't live in an area where it snows often. I guess I look at things from a purpose standpoint. I thought the trend of a skirt with huge arctic boots was pretty interesting. At least I'd take that over most shrugs and the aforementioned pants into boots trend.
I still favor black boots since I tihink they still go with most everything girls wear. I think you take a chance with any article of footwear not colored black or even white. You'll have to find something to support the look of a color of boots not colored black or white. Beachwear trends have usually shown combinations of brown with blue accents, and the more popular brown with pink accents. More sophisticated and career types would likely pair a pastel pink blouse with brown solid or plaid pants and brown boots. That's a winner for the dress up types. The dress down types may likely go with some brown-colored top and jeans. I'd probably suggest (and I can't believe I'm suggesting this) a brown shrug with your choice of a T-shirt with dark denim jeans and brown boots. That's also a winner. An old buddy of mine at my community college once worn a brown shirt or blouse, a white skirt with floral accents, and brown boots. I think you need something brown to sort of compliment the brown boots. My favorite feminine fashion from last year were culottes/gaucho pants. On the right legs and done right, they can actually be quite alluring, especially in the fall and winter. But they have also been converted to an all-year fashion. I usually see some gauchos paired with flip-flops, more dressy sandals, and even some flats and mary janes. I think gauchos are more of a dress-up kind of fashion. I don't really think sneakers would fit the image too well. I think you should really give brown boots a try if you have some nice gauchos to work with. I probably wouldn't match brown gauchos with brown boots. I'd go with white, khaki, tan, or something that's sort of light in color. Experiment wisely.
