Céline S/S 11 Paris

I will just add that I know fashion is a bit different, in that it is very cyclical, so most would agree that it is, essentially, fine to 'borrow' from the earlier works of other designers.

However, the real comparison I was trying to make was regarding the 'marketing over honesty' part of all this, which is very prevalent these days, of course, in both art and fashion.

'Damien Hirst', for example, is definitely a product brand name and not the name of an artist, in the true sense of the word (as most of us understand it).

not really a fan of this collection. the cuts are nice, but i hate leather tops... i just find most of it very boring.

Another incredible collection from Philo - some of the clothes with their dartless, seamless simplicity just made me die - especially the leather piece with the front zip and pockets on Sigred Agren.
I haven't seen many of the shows after New York yet, but Celine is already up there in my favourites.

i love this collection!! pheobe philo goes from strength to strength. loving the crisp whites and pops of colour. especially the soft trousers with side stripes and coloured hems.

I love this collection and what she's doing with leather... but previous collections were stronger, especially the first season she designed for Celine :/

As much as I wasn't deeply moved at the beginning, I think it's a brilliant collection. Beautifully simple, perfectly cut and just amazing on the runway. Especially loving the skirts.

^^^ I agree mackos. As much as I thought this wasn't a stellar collection in the beginning (I still think her previous collections were much stronger) I think this was a pretty brilliant collection in retrospect. Everything is executed with such perfection and with such a timeless quality that its hard not to appreciate it.

I love these backstage shots

How did you save those pictures? They're so small (and not click-able) on my computer :ermm:

I meant from the Celine website  You can't right click and save as there. Guess I should've been more clear

i guess someone couldn't wait for celine to start making menswear....

Wouldn't be the first time a male celebrity has worn something from a women's collection.

I loved MJ in Givenchy:heart:. Stephen Tyler in Givenchy was cool too. But he should've left those Blumarie-pants at home:ninja:

here is a gathering of spring shoes.
and here is a blog dedicated to the latest celine collection. it is remarkable how i was so unimpressed when i saw the clothes on hangers but on the body it is a whole different ball game.
