Calvin Klein 205W39NYC Pre-Fall 2019

I like it..a lot. There are strong vibes from some other brands but still very CK. Not fan of the cast though.

The outerwear is fantastic, unsurprisingly. Overall great collection.

Hmmm Balenciaga by Demna 2.0
Suddenly, Raf is making an asymmetrical trench coat, grey tailleurs and all.
The sneakers are a Yeezy 700 copycat...

It seems like because he couldn’t copy the layered coats of Balenciaga, he just did a coat on coat thing.

Why instead of looking at Vogue.com for copies of his peers collections, he is not going through the archives of Calvin Klein?

Nice fur coat tho and good outerwear overall.

The collection comes off as if he just got criticized by the Power That Be for his recent pretentiousness, hence the overtly "inspired" trench coat, dresses, and sneakers. But oh well, at least they're a lot less an eye-sore than his S/S 2019 offerings.

The strongest pieces are the ones that aren't referencing Demna. The women's styling is the miss here. The women's tailoring and outerwear are great and stand out for me. I really love the fur and that suit with the caramel boot is very sexy and strong.

For me, this is his strongest men's outing but it's also the first time that I've felt like I can purchase something since he's been at this label. I'm a bodybuilder and this is the first time that i feel like i would not look like a clown. Straight forward, fashionable and clean clothing that's not overly trendy. I'm really interested in seeing this in stores now.

From the moment I opened the gallery, all I could think of was Demna's Balenciaga. It's embarrassing how similar it is to what Demna is doing over there.

I think that his menswear for Calvin is stronger than it is for his own brand.

His menswear actually looks good on athletic/muscular bodies. I’ve a friend who used to wear Givenchy by Tisci and he has switched to Calvin and it looks good. It’s very Helmut Lang-ish...very sexy.

This is surely not for skinny boys...

^So true, that's why I feel like his menswear is the closest from CK spirit. I really wish Raf and his team were better at casting especially for the menswear -_-.

I don't think it looks bad actually. I agree that much of it reminds me of Demna.

Not really... they're similar to Raf's Adidas Ozweego. Yeezy is the copycat.

The CK sneakers look similar to the 90s Adidas basketball shoes, with the chunky round outer sole that splits in the middle. The Yeezy sneakers are actually based off an old Reebok sneaker, which is a brand Adidas owns.

I also think that looks like Balenciaga. However, I like it a lot. In general, I love the jackets.

I love the Celinesque dresses at the beggining. I inmediately picture them in the kind of show I wish Raf put out: Clean, sophisticated and mature...alas he prefers to churn out those pretentious little shows of his.

I'm just so tired of all these random themes and references, hasn't he learned anything from all those years looking up to Helmut...

Oh God, the cowboy boots again! This time, in lavender.
He's not saying much with this collection, but I quite like it. Maybe because it's so close to Balenciaga.

Simple and yet very luxurious, which I love.
I wish there was a bit of a sexyness in this. That's what is missing to make it perfect and more ''Calvin Klein'', in my opinion.

I wish there was a bit of a sexyness in this.

It's what I miss most about Zucchelli's CK and generally in most contemporary menswear. The sexiness. In terms of the cut, material, how it flatters your body. Etc. Even the TF version of sexiness is rather tame, and I'm not interested in Balmain's. Too campy!

I kind of like this... I would've never guessed it's CK but still. Looks like a watered down version of Balenciaga with a little bit of Ghesquière.
