Modelresource.ca has started a ranking of the Top 50 Canadian models with January 2008. It seems heavily weighted towards the very new girls. That might show that success in modeling is very fleeting, and a modeling career often very short. What's your opinion?

To start off the arguments:

Coco number one? I much prefer Stam.

That list is ridiculous...Lisa, Heather, Meghan, Alana, and Irina are FAR more successful than Julia Dunstall.

Personally I'd arrange that top 10 like this:

1. Stam (because she is successful as a model, AND she has sort of a "celebrity" like status now, and a lot of people recognize her)
2. Daria
3. Coco
4. Alana
5. Meghan
6. Heather
7. Irina
8. Lisa
9. Julia
10. Johanna Stickland (doesn't work much anymore but she's still more successful than MArla Boehr)

Andi is very pretty though. Probably prettier than Heather or Daria, but she has less personality than them IMO.

The canadian that I like less is Julia Dunstall. She's ordinary and boring. Meghan (Collision I think) is not that photogenic.

My favourite Canadian model is Daria Werbowy. There's nothing more to be said about htat she's freakin' Daria

My favourite newcomer from Canada is Kori Richardson.

Coco does amazing work.
Daria is pretty all around amazing.
Of the newbies, I am impressed with Tara Gill (Elmer Olsen) and Mackenzie Hamilton (Richards).

Taryn, also from Elmer Olsen, is better placed this year than Tara though after the CK exclusive (and have you seen the NY Times pics with Ali S. et al? pretty expensive looking group).

Also watching Chantale Nadeau's Cate Chant and Simona.

I am interested to see how Meghan will do for Mode.

i prefer Daria over just about any canadian model. Heather marks is quite average-looking nowadays, IMO. I've never been a stam fan, but she is indeed one of the most successful, however i feel as if Daria is in a league of her own and is the only canadian model i could really see being "legendary" or to leave that serious of a mark on the industry years from now. Andi's a good "working" girl. Coco's not my style, but definitely going places.

Although she's not that popular, i actually really like Maria Dvirnik, too.
