Capes

ADORE the cream one!! That's exactly what I am looking for, only in black... why can't I find the 'perfect one' anywhere!??

a friend of a friend was over here in copenhagen a few weeks ago with a beautiful cream cape that she bought from the incredibly naff british high street store, BHS for £90 . . . .

i have a short Ann-Louise Roswald one in thick material so its quite stiff and i feel a bit 'upholstered' when i wear it. Its hard to wear actually, I don't know what trousers or skirt looks best with a mini-one. . . check it out below.

also have a long black and white plaid mohair one, vintage from the Scottish House. Its hasn't got any sleeves and my arms get a bit cold when i wear that one, so I sometimes put on long fingerless armwarmers with it. Then mittens. Kind of arm layering style.

I like that one. :)

Yes, capes are starting to pop up everywher here now, and Im starting to see many people around me wearing them, Oasis has one in cream and black.

I bought one from there, still deciding if I should keep it or not, it's not that warm, still need to layer underneath.

I bought 5 capes from Ebay this season, all vintage. Each is in pristine, immaculate condition... Ebay is easily the best choice for capes.

I agree. Just bought one there myself! A simple, black one from Topshop, not vintage.
Haven´t received it yet, but i´m looking fwd to it

I bought this cape from Armani Exchange yesterday! It's cute and light, good for mild weather.

tip: saw a great black short cape at Zara the other day.. thankfully, not too many people are wearing them here, so i guess its still ok to wear one.. the question is when??
Capes should be ok during late fall but with winter temperatures brrr its cold for capes

lena, i wonder when too. winter where i am now is just not cape weather and they can't exactly be worn under jackets. since i'm reluctant to put mine away until next fall, i usually wear them indoors as sweaters.

right, i agree..
not much one can put over a cape, since a cape is supposed to be outwear .
maybe it would be ok over some heavy kind of knit blouse, not sure if i'd wear heavy knit under a cape though ..

i know the problem, Lena.
I have been wearing mine on top of lots of layers. Then you definitely need the whole hat, scarf and gloves thing.
And also arm warmers (which I have got from H&M)

agreed...it's far too cold here to wear capes. unless it's a heavy-duty highland woollen cape that falls to the knees...those are actually incredibly warm. :D I'm a bit wary of capes...but I'd wear one of those (especially with a traditional silver celtic brooch closure). unfortunately they tend to be really expensive..
