Chanel Cruise 2013 Versailles

I'm like head over heels for this. The pastel hair, the cool creepers (specifically the gold ones), and the youthful spirit it's evoking. Just marvelous. Now, that look on Kasia just has to be mine. So bad a**.

I'm imagining the inspiration - Marie-Antoinette plays milkmaid with her solid silver pails at the Petit Trianon.

From what I can see, the collection is hideous - a total mess with direct references to antique underwear and a sickly sort of Harjuku-like play on 18th century costume.
The customer seems younger somehow?
Lagerfeld likes his gimmicks, but this seems too cheap for his aesthetic, it feels like someone else designing it.

Some pieces are kind of nice, but overall, the styling, the fit, the hair/makeup is just so ugly and off-putting. I don't think "Versaille" when I see this, I think cheap Vegas costumes. Another terrible collection from Karl.

WORST collection ever from Chanel. OMG I defend Karl a lot but this is just an eyesore. I really can't find one thing to like.

 @ the watering can. Really Chanel?

It's all over the place...some of the pieces I think are quite beautiful, the grey/pink floral pieces, the light sweaters for when you're on your mega million yacht watching the sun go down, etc. But then some pieces are just ugly and bordering on gimmicky/costumey.

I think it's a stellar collection. Very whimsical and fairytale-ish.

the white dresses with the flowery embelisshments are very very pretty. the rest is a mess, verging on disaster in some looks . like this one:

With beauty marks shaped like the famous double-C logo affixed to their cheekbones, a bevy of models strolled through the gardens at Versailles to present Chanel's Resort 2013 collection.

The rococo embellishments on many of the garments Karl Lagerfeld sent down the runway made it impossible to imagine him showing the collection anywhere else. Floral embroidery accented modernized versions of what French nobles wore to the court of Louis XVI, and many of the looks were paired with pastel-colored flatforms. Derek Blasberg likened the looks to "Marie Antoinette in denim" — an apt description indeed. The monarch wouldn't have looked totally out of place in one of Lagerfeld's denim vests — trimmed as they were, of course, in gold rope.

Plaid-Clad Karl Lagerfeld Hosted His Chanel Cruise Show At Versailles

Last year’s Chanel cruise show was held in swoon-worthy Cap d’Antibes on the French Riviera. This year Karl Lagerfeld somehow upped the fancy factor by hosting the show at Versailles. Let’s discuss things!
The Clothes: The Marie Antoinette-inspired duds were — shocker! — quite lovely! We especially love the multicolored tiered mini paired with a sequined jacket. We would wear the hell of that. Some of the swimwear and a couple denim outfits were perplexing, but the dresses were beautiful. Also, white-soled creepers! Down with heels! Etc!
The Beauty: All the models wore short bobs with bangs, some in black and some in pastels (pink! purple!). The reddish-pink eye shadow situation is the perfect example of runway makeup that really wouldn’t work in the real world. We do dig the interlocking C beauty marks though. Those would surely work IRL.
The Atmosphere: Versailles is so green and fountain-filled and FANCY. Also fancy? Quilted Chanel watering can handbags. (Yes, these exist!) The little tents were perfect for a sunny day like today, and the seat pillows were a classy touch.
The Guests: The show did not draw the most exciting of crowds, to be honest. But Tilda Swinton being there sort of makes up for everyone else not being there? When she posed with Karl, it was like two amazing aliens descended upon Earth to spread exquisite taste and general weirdness. Vanessa Paradis was also there, as were Ines de la Fressange and Alice Dellal.
The Kaiser: Karl seriously departed from his standard uniform. Well, not so much departed as spruced up. He wore jeans! And brown suede boots! And a matching plaid shirt-and-tie combo! Motorcycle gloves obviously topped off the ensemble.

Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld has long been regarded as a king of fashion, and now he’s taken over an actual palace: He staged Chanel’s 2012 Cruise collection runway show on the grounds of Versailles this afternoon. But since we’ve been enjoying the lovely weather here in New York a little too much to bother flying seven hours to France (honest, that’s why we weren’t there!), we’ve taken to Twitter to round up all the details of what was definitely the most anticipated show of the spring.

Chanel’s off-season shows have become just as much of a spectacle as its spring and fall shows, and this one is no exception. Vogue Paris tweeted:

Karl Lagerfeld takes Marie-Antoinette to a garden rave party for the Chanel cruise collection 2013

The models were styled in short bobs that ran the gamut from black to cotton-candy pink for a very “Vidal Sassoon/Louise Brooks meets George Washington” look. Makeup artist Peter Philips also painted tiny interlocking C face tattoos on the models’–made to look like Marie Antionette’s signature beauty mark?

The 18th century vibe was modernized in the form of mini-skirted ball gowns, lots of cut-outs, and white-rubber soled creepers. One male model carried a huge quilted watering can handbag. Last but not least, Karl took his bow wearing plaid, jeans, and brown suede shoes. Brown. Suede. Shoes.

Karl Lagerfeld always bores me. This collection is such hideous which is unutterable.
P.S : Karl, if you read that : Leave Chanel and take Alice Dellal with you. Thank you :D
