Chanel Handbags S/S 2011 : Blake Lively by Karl Lagerfeld

I think she looks great. Better than anything I could have expected. This is the best they could've done and I think they exceeded most people's expectations. I don't really like the bag, but it targets a more younger buyer so it makes sense to use it. I thought they would've gone the Lily Allen route, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. I love the fact that the mirror shows 3 shots of the bag- it's subtle and not as gawdy as the Lilly Allen ads.

I have yet to understand why the fashion world is so infatuated with Blake, but it looks good, much better than Lilly Allen's ones. The bag/mirror dynamic does remind somewhat of Nick Knight's ads for Dior with Angela Lindvall

This is as boring as Chanel always is, it's not Blake's fault it's Karl's. He needs to stop shooting their campaigns it's always the same old thing. Blake actually looks pretty good here, but the bag looks awful.

By the way, I noticed Blake said something about being the first american Chanel girl. I hope it's a misquote because it wasn't that long ago that Selma Blair did a campaign of theirs.

overall underwhelmed I agree with Saan, Karl needs to stop shooting these, the bags appear almost as an afterthought, the whole thing is just not that organic as it should be (imo anyway)
