Chanel Resort 2007 New York

i dont like the Paris-NY collection. Delicate but too sophisticated, not my cup of tea. Dont you miss last year's cruise show in Paris? i love EVERYTHING from that collection, legendary.

It was the bus collection right?
if yes, I adored this too..

Well just a little about the Dior cruise collection, it looked all wrong, horrible dresses, the hair and makeup...awful!

As someone said up there, Chanel should really stay out of making menswear
Really!!! First this guy (what's his name?) the real hot one, who has shaved his head recently, and whom karl seems to have fallen in love with him?? the blonde one! What is it about the high waisted jeans!!! No men should look like the 90's!!! and the second one Tyson Ballou, with the sleeveless top and jeans, and huge shoes...HORRIBLEEE can this be more tacky???
The women part of the collection was boring, the sandals are too weird for me, they kinda look nice, but only on the models, and I'm not even sure...
The stripes looks so wrong, so cheap. the washed that they done to the jeans are simply awful, that colour of jeans shouldn't be worn by anyone!

Conclusion: Karl, John G., Marc J. and all of those who had their moments at big houses (except Nicholas, Alber, and Olivier) seems to lost a lot of inspiration in their last 2 or 3 collections...Dior Chanel and LV are really making me have pity of them...

Not totally agreed.Chanel maintains good taste and high quality, esp in contrast with LVMH productions.
Btw that guy you mentioned is called Brad. ^_^

This collection is just so-so, there are some individual pieces that are cute, I don't think it's too horrible, at least not as horrible as s/s 06. But I do love last year cruise much much much much more!

Chanel RTW needs a breah of fresh air... It's strange because the Haute Couture is brilliant and looks far from the granny image that is found in the RTW collections (take away the gladiator sandals and fingerless gloves and it basically looks the same as Chanel in the 80ies and 90ies). it's mostly the styling that suggests that Chanel has a young image - the brooches and jewellry pieces, the tacky logos and bowties in the hair, gloves, odd footwear and ridiculous hotpants. Apart from that, it hasn't changed at all.

Thanks AMOR
Brad Kroening is that guy, he is nice nice nice, I want him as my boyfriend
but the jeans he is wearing are terrible!

Those sandels were pretty bad. They made the models calve look huge and the make-up wasn't that great either. In all the collection was just O.K.

I keep looking at the collection and I found something else
How is it that ypou combine the female look with those guys!?
I mean he presents on one side the girls in classic chanel, and the boys...they kinda look very trashy...I mean I don't see any of these girls wearing that with a boy who has a lame shirt with a lacey cardigan and jeans!!!
it's completely wrong the combination...
if that's what Karl has to do with boys, please leave it to other people!!

that's exactly what bothers me about chanel, it's very redundant..

Not at all....:yuk:

hi, could anyone explain to me what these "resort" collections are? I know there is rtw, and haute couture, but resort just seems like rtw to me... I dont' really understand why they have 3 different lines.

^^haha, those are actually some looks i liked...

I really really like this collection... Although some of the pieces are kind of WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!! But for the most part I enjoied this collection. The evening wear was wonderful...

I can't believe it is Resort time already. I still feel like the 2006 Fall shows just ended. No wonder only the larger houses do resort. They must be like factories. You can't be expected to produce life changing fashion 5 times a year.

ok let me get it through. Cruise,or resort, is a collection initially designed for those rich women who go on a cruise in spring. It is showed in May and available in stores the next spring. Chanel has also another line which was launched after the five satellites (lesage, etc) joined (in 2002 or 03). The name of the collection depends on the place where it is showed, like Paris-Tokyo for 04 and Paris-NY for 05. If this line is called Prefall, then cruise is just pre-spring i think.

correct me if i'm wrong.:P
