Chanel S/S 2009 : Heidi Mount & Jerry Hall by Karl Lagerfeld

^^ I don't think it's weird, to me it looks too similar to Claudia's last season, but I like this shot better!

for me, i think this ad should have been fronted by sasha. i could just imagine her with these clothes on instead of heidi. :D i'm not saying heidi doesn't fit in these ads, in fact she looks good here, but i what i'm just saying is that if sasha fronted this one, it would turn out much much better. :)

anyway, love the lying shot and the last shot. greatly captured! ;) but what i like is still the 1st shot, the footwear/teaser ad. :)

The last shot is pretty weird, it looks like Heidi fell onto the floor from the bed and then decided to keep that pose or something...that said, Heidi's face looks pretty, as always.

I know exactly what's happening in the shot:

Karl:"Check under the Bed"
Heidi: "He's not under here"
Brad: I'm in the closet Hiedi !!!

My thoughts exactly, what a silly ad campaign.

Umm- yeah, not cutting edge, but I do notice I am looking at the clothes more than I usually would, as opposed to studying the ad itself- so maybe it's a good idea...
And I'd love to see the house in real life- can't wait for the spread in Vogue that we know will happen along the way! ;)

I find this campaign so boring, what a waste of Heidi and beautiful clothes the only shot thats interesting is the one of her on the floor cause the dress looks great.

I forgot to mention on chanel.com in the 'news' section there is an article/picture of the 'making of' this campaign.. ^_^

I think that Heidi is perfect for this campaign. It's not exciting but it's beautiful.

Here is the behind-the-scenes from Chanel.com :flower:

As soon as Karl Lagerfeld saw the house in Vermont he knew he had found the setting for the next Chanel ad campaign. It is a typical New England wooden house, set on the banks of Lake Champlain, with a severe and puritan look that makes it seem like the house has been frozen in the mid 19th century. As the designer put it: "I love this house, it is so Emily Dickinson," referring to the tormented romanticism of the American poet from Massachusetts whose work went unrecognized during her lifetime.

It was in the empty rooms of this vast six-bedroom house that the designer photographed Heidi Mount - the 21-year-old American model from Salt Lake City who opened the 2009 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear show.
Karl Lagerfeld has also said that the campaign shots are inspired by the work of the Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershoi, whose austere interiors with sunlight flooding in through the sash windows are the backdrop for silent feminine meditation.

at first i thought the campaign was weird, but i'm starting to love it little by little, especially the dark and edgy concept.

Eyewear ad.....

(my own scans from Harpers Bazaar UK Mar)

If the quality looks poor, especially on the pic with the male model, this si actually the way it appears.:D

^ I love that! Maybe the best ad of the entire campaign.
