Charlene Wittstock, Princess of Monaco

You already have a bias against her, so it doesn't matter what I say. But...since you asked for elaboration, I'll try my best to explain my POV.

I think what matters most are her immediate family (the Grimaldis and her family), and the subjects of Monaco. I don't live in Monaco, but I watched both wedding ceremonies, and the public seemed to like her. And I haven't heard anything about the Monaco people boycotting her since then.

Please quote where she supposedly dislikes her public. Something current (as in post-marriage, not from 5 years ago). She's said in all the interviews I've read it took awhile to find her footing, but now she likes it.

Just because one is not good at showing emotion doesn't mean one lacks it. I get accused of being "sullen" when I'm feeling happy but I'm not good at outwardly displaying it. I also get accused of being "aloof" when it's really nerves from being socially awkward. Even though Charlene has had years to get used to this life, she's under even more intense scrutiny now then she was before. Even Grace--Grace!--said she spent her first year of marriage in tears most of the time because she was under such scrutiny. (Charlene doesn't have the benefit of an acting background like Grace did, and Grace didn't have to deal with instant media and the net back in 1957 like Charlene does now.)

There are plenty of social figures, past and present, who were no good at presenting themselves to the public, but an inability to be a good communicator or always perky doesn't mean one "dislikes the public." (James Madison comes to mind. So does Albert Einstein.)

JFK kept women in the background while in the White House. Did Jackie start kissing him in public and giving him bear hugs just to prove she loved him and her marriage was stable? No. She (and he) hated PDA. It's Albert's and Charlene's decision if they want to be affectionate in public or not. And it's not like PDA is an indicstor of how stable one's marriage is otherwise there would be far more celebrity couples still together.

I pretty much hate last outfit and hair style. I think that wet hair works only at runway show, but when I see someone in RL having wet hair I am usually grossed out.

I absolutely love the beige outfit in #653. That skirt is gorgeous and she looks beautiful.

I don't know why you are in such a tight knot about this, but I am not criticizing your comment, I simply see a different point of view when it comes to Charlene. I actually didn't ask for an elaboration but, whatever!

Also, I didn't say anything about Charlene and Albert having to break out into PDA every second they are together to show they are happy. I was isolating Charlene alone and how she never or rarely smiles and if she does, it looks strained.

Good grief!

That's so not true. Charlene seems very very warm. She has done tons of events with kids, way more than the Duchess of Cambridge and she always glowed. I remember some pictures of her with Desmond Tutu. She is always way more sombre/serious during official functions such as those. I guess she wants to be taken seriously.

Why do you have to bring The Duchess of Cambridge to this topic? Just because Charlene had more meetings with kids (which I don't really remember) does it mean she is a better person???? What does it have to do with this?

My point is that it is on the eyes of everyone how unhappy and sad she is in this marriage ( I never got why she get married at the first point, it's clear that they are not a happy couple). That's why she doesn't seem friendly and she barely smiles! I'm sure all princess take their jobs very seriously and professionally, but Charlene is the only one who always seems bored, unhappy and very cold.

Love the dress, hate the hair. She needs more body in it, it's looking so flat.

I am so proud that she hasn't forgotten where she comes from. She started her own foundation today. Happy to see her working so hard towards who she wants to be as a Princess. And it's always a delight to see her in SA.

A fellow citizen who was at the event took some pictures of her and said
t Princess Charlene is really stunning, so poised and graceful. These pics really do not do her justice.

It was announced by the Palais Princier de Monaco that H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco will officially launch her own charity entitled, The Princess Charlene Foundation beginning in 2012. The purpose of the new foundation, headquartered in Monaco, is to “… help those in need across five different continents.”

Also, there will be a new website launched for the Princess Charlene Foundation beginning next year which will specifically “…unveil the missions and the resources dedicated to future projects to be selected…”

I really look forward seeing what her foundation will look like. I guess Africa, fashion, environmental issues, fashion and monaco will all come together. I am sure she'll do great :) I look forward seeing more of her in the international scene by herself talking about issues she cares about like Princess Maxima or Mette Marit,

I love this woman:blush: She is not the most sylish person on earth, but she seems so nice and good person:blush:

OMG! her face on the 1b pic is scary! what the hell did she do to her face?
