I do not understand it either, Charlize is so talented, I wish she worked more. In reference to Kidman, she totally screwed up her face - although she is getting a lot of buzz for her latest movie, although it is an indie.

Charlize has two movies in pre-production... Young Adult and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Charlize is a great actress that pretty much specializes in drama. These roles are hard to do come by (at least the good ones) and very competitive... since actresses like Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet... plus, she is not a box office magnet, so.

I think she is being smart about her choices these days... just making 1-2 movies per year with other good actors/directors as oppose to movies like 'battle in seattle'.

Love Charlize with the smoky eyes; I also think she has a great figure and face - nothing fake about either, not to skinny, no trout lips, etc. So if she dies her hair light blonde, so be it! Compared to others she is still an elegant and natural beauty in Hollywood.

^ I wonder! She and Nicole Kidman were both the hottest (and maybe the best) actresses around a few years back, and now they both almost seem to be semi retired, for some reason...

I know....Charlize was so demanded after winning her oscar!but now...Maybe, as someone said, it's difficult to find projects with quality, and I do rather see her doing nothing that doing everything, most of them not worthy!
she is so talented it's a pitty we can't see her more often on the big scream.
About Kidman, she already told in public that doing movies is not her priority anymore. she is more focused in her family, specially daugther and go on tour with her husband.

I find that if you win an Oscar you end up costing too much, like most highest paid actress so some people dont want to hire them because they cost too much...

just an info - filming of the Mad Max: Fury road has one again been put aside and instead of its start in august 2010 they've pushed the scheduled start to feb 2012.
