Lots of people who smoke are seen as "gross" or "disgusting" and while smoking may be gross and disgusting people here are judged way too much as if they're a horrible terrible person for smoking. It's that persons decision, and they shouldn't be treated as lower class or classless just because they smoke.

^ I know..I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her in a magzine...such a shame, she's a great example of classy, sophisticated style for the younger generations, rather than all the Lindsays and Nicoles out there. (don't get me wrong..I <3 their style, but Char's simplicity is just so refreshing sometimes)

That's a very exaggerated, unnecessary, and inaccurate way to state it, I think. No one I have ever spoken to or known or met in my life has ever put those two things in the same category, and I live in the US. Are you trying to be insulting or just rude?

Child molestation is obviously way diff/more serious than smoking, but at the same time I think she was trying to say that people who smoke are looked down on. I can understand people "looking down" on smokers because of the harm they are doing to themselves, the environment, everyone around them, but that's just normally not the case..it's usually they're looked down on because they must be so "low class" or "trailer trash" or that that PERSON is horrible and disgusting. ehh not so sure if that came out right sorry!

^No, I understand your point compeletely! I think people who smoke in the states are treated and looked at differently in usually a negative way. I only know a handful of smokers myself, but they happen to be some of the most amazing people I know. And when people find out they smoke you can see their good judgement towards them start to change.
