Chloe S/S 2019 by Steven Meisel

It reminds me of Alma-Tadema. Bourgeois taste. I like the cast except Rianne van Rompaey she always looks the same.

Flawless casting and I'm happy to see Hannah Ferguson, she looks incredible in HF.

Omg yes Alma-Tadema is so on the nose. Haven’t seen his work referenced in ages. Spot on. Disagree about Rianne though, incredible chameleon.

Almost mistook Carolina Burgin for Kris G with long hair!!

LOVE her in this though.

Hannah F?? Can do without.

Its so magical to see Meisel getting along with these young designers (Natacha and JWA) this is the proof that high fashion can be renewed and be exciting again.

^yes, Meisel's campaigns with the younger designers are much better (still trying to forget Versace)

the images and the video are beautiful! mistook Hannah for Sophie (?the girl that's been in Chloe campaigns for Natacha), but she fits well. lovely cast!

This is all so gorgeous, one of my favorite campaigns this season.

What I love about Natacha's Chloé and especially the campaigns is that it seems like the right kind of glamour to aspire to. The girls look sun kissed, healthy and serene while never being badly dressed. It's the woman that tries to live a balanced life; does very good at her job to earn all this money for great clothes, organic food and travels with her friends and does meditation and yoga to unwind but never brags about it, doesn't think she's better than everyone else just because she has an exquisite taste in books or stars the day with a green juice. If anything, it makes it easy for me to spin a tale and that's what campaigns should really be about.

Wow, I wanna be that wholesome woman :crush:

Exactly my thoughts. This looks way too polished and stiff for what is my idea of Chloé.

She understands what High Fashion is. It's Grown Up and Chic. It's not trying to please anyone or go after a demographic. It's beautiful models wearing beautiful clothes. Isn't that what Fashion is?

I actually meant that as a compliment though :D

I like what she’s done with Chloe so far. This S/S 19 collection is a bit of a letdown to me compared to F/W 18 (mainly due to the printed t-shirts, those were a certified “I can’t” moment), but out of all the new creative directors that were appointed two-three years ago, she still has some of the best offerings. They’re wearable without verging on dullness or department store-like.

I wasn't actually commenting on the collection itself, but the campaign. Out of perhaps all the fashion houses out there, Chloé had been among the most consistent in the visual representation through their campaigns - a lot of movement and free spirit and that is simply what's missing in this campaign. Had I not known the clothes and accessories in the pictures, you could easily persuade me that this is a Zara campaign. Which, at the end of the day isn't a bad thing at all I guess, as long as it works for the brand's new direction.

Wish they included an Asian model
Nevertheless, another stellar Ad by Meisel

The mood and atmosphere in these photos is fantastic.

boring :( I miss 2000s chloe.

Really? I don't miss it at all. God, it went on and on and on until there was just no way to innovate that direction anymore. Blonde girls running through the fields, street, around an estate, always in a rush, always with flowing hair. It got old.

When I look at Natacha's runway presentation it bores me senseless, but her campaigns are the exact opposite. This looks contemporary, glamorous and luxurious. Definitely one of the strongest I've seen so far for this season.
