I don't think she is conventional "pretty", it is more of what she does with herself that makes her attractive.

I like her in MELINDA AND MELINDA.
She was also cute in BOYS DONT CRY and BROKEN FLOWERS,but not very impressive to me.
Apparently she's very pretty, but seems like she's kept a distance from mass media.

well, it would make sense. How can you be an indie darling if you're in the media spotlight constantly?

I can't see how someone can say she's ugly. She's quite pretty and has that special "it" factor that makes you want to get to know her. Maybe its because she's so indie and interest but she's still a beaut.

I think she tries too hard to be cool, and that´s not cool at all.

We live in a world made up by pretty, fit and toned postars. Jessica Simpson, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Aniston, Ashley & Mary-Kate, Sienna Miller - the style icons of today are pretty much all the same and created to fit a special MTV market. Someone like Chloe Sevigny can't compete with that in any way. As so many people like to say: she's not "pretty", she's "ugly". That she dresses cool, has a cool personality, interesting things to say, is involved in interesting projects and other things like that doesn't really change that. 'Cause she's not 'pretty' and she doesn't follow the trends and she takes many chances in the way she dresses instead of just wearing 'pretty' dresses, skinny jeans and high boots.
I personally think she's interesting and I love that she dares to be 'out-there' even though it's not always perfect. It's fun to watch someone with the guts to try new things.
"She's trying too hard to be cool" someone said which is quite interesting considering the amount of time, money and effort the MTV stars of today (for example those I mentioned in the beginning) put on their image. If that's not trying to hard then I don't know what is. (?) (Don't get me wrong, I really like some of their styles also but it's just boring when EVERYONE starts to look the same)

She is not a conventional actress to me and that is what makes her appealing....

Has anyone seen the Brown Bunny? OMG

In my books, she was the one who re-difined cool, or at least one of those people who brought the word "cool" back into our vocabulary in the early 90's, way before Cool Brittania...

She would be trying hard if she tried to look in a way that didn't suit her but imo she is probably the only one who could manage to pull what she's wearing off... her style is so individual that you could hardly call it.... anything ^_^ and to prove this, how many people have we seen in magazines that can dress like her (AND pull it off) and have others admire them for their sense of style?

I think that her fashion sense shows better when she's wearing the latest trends or the latest "it" items... She mixes them up so well with her personal style that she manages to avoid looking like anyone else who may be wearing the same things... as if she's wearing something completely different ...

Even if she goes to a party wearing the same outfit as someone else, she would manage to come accross as wearing a different style.

Plus, you couldn't copy her even if you had mastered the Sienna Miller art of copycat!

I thought Chloë was great in the movie Kids. (credit: my computer)

she truly was. to play that role, especially in a Larry Clark film
takes balls.

You couldn't of said it better.

Chloe is being herself and is not the product of a stylist, image consultant, trainer, nutrionalist, make up artist and a hairdresser, like many celebrites do to increase their status.
