Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I'm on the search for my first ever chloe! Should i get the gold python silverado, or bronze? or are there any other colors worth checking?

I like colorful/unique bags rather than classics normally..merci

You could check out the Silver python . There are pictures posted earlier. Both the Bronze and Silver from this season's Fall Winter '05-'06 are fabulous fabulous bags. The Gold is from Spring Summer '05. Unsure if it is still available in stores.

If you are considering non-metallic python, perhaps the Red or Indigo? There appears to be a lack of encouragement or enthusiasm for these colours as many feel the python silverados look better in the brown shades and/or metallic colours. But as you like unique, colourful bags the Red or Indigo may be suitable !!! Have fun deciding and please keep us posted on the fabulous one you decide on...any python silverado is fabulous !!!

In post #2126, style101 informed that the Doctor Silverados would be coming out in Python. The ebay item you posted looks good. Thought the leather one was nice but the python one is even better .

I've quite liked the Doctor, despite many discouraging comments from those who have seen it IRL . Saw a Chloe ad in some magazine of the leather Doctor bag with the bag on the shoulder of the model who, with the typically skinny arms could put the short handles over her shoulders . The huge leather bag was juxtaposed against a typically flowy feminine outfit on the model. The "hard & tough bag against softer, more feminine clothes" is so typically characteristic of Chloe.

Thanks for referring me to the post, I hadn't joined the forum then but so excited to know heaps of ppl here are in the know. I agree with u baghag and do quite like the doctor too, except maybe for the pricetag. The python doctor is expensive (dont know the RRP but it cant be small) and for a little bit more than the leather doctor you can purchase the original python in medium size. I've seen the doctor in person and from what I recall the handles are indeed quite short. Wouldnt be very comfortable over the shoulder if wearing like a jacket.

Btw, I emailed Chloe Bahrain asking if they had any python mediums and they have not responded. It's been like over a week. Are they usually like this?

No they normally take couple days you can call them now I think is 7 hours behind us if you are in OZ now.

I received an email from Chloe Bahrain a couple of days ago. At that time they had leather, but not python, silverados.

lily - Does the original brown silverado python (you and meowmix own) have the "Chloe" stamp in the middle strap?

I have seen the pictures of Nicole & Kirstin ones both have the stamp.

^ Hmmm...if the original batch of brown python silverados (i.e. Nicole's, Kirsten's etc) have the Chloe emboss on the strap and the subsequent batches are inconsistent, it appears reasonable to think that there is a lack of quality control with these bags...??!?!?!!!

As discussed earlier, and for the benefit of those who just joined the forum and are wondering about the emboss issue, chiangsi's and I have the Gold python from Spring Summer '05. Hers has the emboss and my Gold python does not. Both of our bags are from reputable stores. Mine is from Chloe New York. So....?!?!?!

The python Doctor's high pricetag could be attributed to the bigger size and hence, bigger quantity of python skin used?!?!?! Thought the python silverados were sufficiently pricey but it seems that Chloe is on a pursuit to outprice her own successful and popular predecessor bags... Example is the Paddington which started off with a friendly pricetag then with its success, *BAM* there is the lizard Paddy this season which costs more than double of the leather ones...

I may consider the leather Doctor next season ...Are you currently considering a medium Python silverado?

did the python silverado come out in gold for this season (f/w 05) as well? i ordered one a few weeks ago off of lvr and could swear they referred to it as gold python.. and when i emailed ilaria she promised it was new and from this season.. it's been awhile since i ordered it and now kinda can't remember the color - how lame is that? waiting is hard.. sigh

I'm pretty sure that the gold on LVR's site is a different gold than the earlier version. That one was more of a true gold - the newer one they had a picture of on the site at one point (and they called it gold) was sort of ivory with gold mixed in throughout - hard to describe. The color looked very much like the medium Doctor's Python Silverado that Bergdorfs had on their site (don't know if the picture is still there though - sorry).

You know, considering that all Chloe bags are handcrafted versus mass-produced, wouldn't it make sense that each individual craftsman puts their own spin on things (to quote a fellow Chloe lover) and as a result, no two bags are alike? I mean, I'm not picturing them all sitting around like us women do, chatting about out every little detail of each bag, and ensuring everything is a perfect match! I rather like the fact that each bag is unique and not of the cookie-cutter variety.

style101 is spot on!! The (new/current) Gold which LVR had is similar to the one on the Bergdorf site. It was still available when I perused the website a while ago.

The Spring Summer '05 Gold is more bling bling and very, very gold indeed with the leather part in yellowy beige or buttercream colour. The Gold python part is in one solid gold tone. The new Gold appears less bling, less goldy and the leather part is in tan or camel colour. The python part is in several shades of complimentary gold/ivory colours, almost iridescent too, rather than in one solid gold tone as per the Spring Summer '05 Gold.

drel 39, please post pics of your fabulous new silverado when it arrives. You must be getting it soon yes?
