Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

^ Thanks all! I saw two gorgeous brown python shades at Chloe NYC. This one (I will call warm brown, slight cognac tone) and a darker chocolate brown. Both were gorgeous. I have wanted this bag for a while, but it took some time for the "right" shade (IMO) to become available again. Happy now!

this is a bag on my list. Did you get at Chloe? I want to get at Neimans or Bergdorf so I can see and return if need be rather than store credit.

I did get it at Chloe. I tried very hard to get it from a department store first...so that I had the "just in case" return option. Not possible in my search...so took the "risk" and went with Chloe. It seems the department stores are carrying very limited versions of the traditional python silverado this season. Will copy the "report" I posted on another thread...

Saw the S06 python silverado bags during a visit to Chloe NYC...could not get the brown tones out of my mind...after a bit of "dialing for python", I received my new bag. Love it...it is the large size...the bag (including handles) is much softer than I expected... Hmmm, now to use my new bag...

Congrats again SoCal! That's the one I thought you got - I have the same color in medium along with the new Natural and new Coffee color one. The plan was to only keep one, but the plan got messed up after they all turned out to be equally gorgeous. Enjoy yours!

I have made some silverado "inquiries" (multiple Nordstroms, Saks, NM, and Chloe NYC) in the past couple of days...the SAs seem disappointed in spring orders when they focus on newer iterations of the bag. The SAs in stores that stock the S06 python traditional silverado bags seem pleased with the colors/quality (e.g. cognac, chocolate brown).

Many indicate the traditional satchel will not be available, will not be available in the large size (or is it medium?), will only be available in limited shades in python, or will only be available in limited quantities in the traditional shape as spring orders focus on the tote and newer iterations.

General SA consensus seems to be "wishful thinking" that store orders (and Chloe) would stick with the traditional satchel as that is a great style and the newer iterations detract from the line. I expect a package today or tomorrow...will review and report...

So my latest update is extreme satisfaction regarding the S06 python from Chloe NYC!

I just called Neimans and Chloe.

Neimans my lady called the buying office. The traditional shape actually isn't available to order anymore because Chloe wants to go in the direction of the new style of the bags.

Chloe NYC my SA said they are getting one brown traditional Silverado in. They actually had it and it was sold out with one large left. Its a traditional milk chocolate brown basically. They have the large left and the price is $2700 or something now! Its nuts.

So that is the report. Basically it SEEMs that if you want the traditional shape in brown...get that one left at Chloe or f ind it on ebay...unless something changes.....SoCal you are right though...those are going into the vault so snatch them up when you can!

Guccigal - you might want to try Nordstroms - they still have several plain dark chocolate pythons left in the medium size.

When I checked with Saks NYC earlier in the week, the SA saw two medium chocolate python silverado bags available "in the system" (but was unsure if they were "actually" available as it takes some time for the system to catch up with sales). I saw the milk chocolate (but as style indicated would refer to it more as dark chocolate or maybe Hershey's chocolate as it was darker than the one I selected) in large at Chloe NYC. It was also gorgeous! (Gave my husband the opportunity to choose based on earlier postings on the thread...he liked the cognac tone.)

If you call Nordstroms, you might want to differentiate between cafe, butterscotch/whiskey/cognac, and chocolate. I was almost shipped that butterscotch python (F05?, pics earlier on thread and on ebay) from Nordstroms when I asked for chocolate/cognac. The SA indicated they had "cafe" as well, but decribed it as "less attractive"... Style, do you know what shade she was referring to? All I can recall is beige, coffee w/ cream...

I tried Nordstrom's stores in Tyson's Corner, VA, Seattle, and King of Prussia, PA. They did not have chocolate pythons in stock (can't recall if I asked about large vs. medium). The Tyson's Corner SA indicated she would get back to me regarding availability, but I haven't heard from her. You might also try NM in Las Vegas...they have a history of locating python bags successfully. I didn't do a lot of calling within NM as they will not ship directly to CA. Saks, Nordstrom's, and Chloe NYC will ship directly to CA.

Oh, I also contacted Aloha Rag. I seem to recall that they would not be receiving the traditional silverado python satchel this season.

Kelsbags - I want the python too but can't bring myself to carry snakeskin for some reason. So I ended up with the leather and it just the same. I didn't condition it yet - will be this weekend's job! Please let me know how you make out. I can get it over my shoulder without a coat, but it still seemed like I had more room with the other type of leather.

Love the bag, SoCal!!! I love the silverado.....now you're making me want a python one!!

Pixie, I've got to try mine on the shoulders.....I like handheld bags, so that's how I always carry it. I'll let you know....I've got to take my baby to the doc. She woke up this morning and her eye was swelled shut. How did your conditioning job turn out?

As far as I know, Saks didn't order any of the traditional satchels, so I'm not sure what those in the system were - Saks is the worst as far as actually knowing what they order - they don't really have a system to check like some of the other stores do. But I'm positive that Neiman's didn't order any at all, so you can pretty much forget bothering with them or Bergdorf's - all they have are hobos and open satchel/totes in the python.

Nordstrom's SA must have been referring to the "Cafe" - which is a lighter shade of taupe or a coffee-with-cream color leather and similar shaded python with variations. Don't ask for Cognac or you'll indeed end up with the Butterscotch - it's actually called Tan/Natural on the tag, but SA's do tend to want to call it whisky/cognac/brown - not sure why.

I guess shifted the bags to stores that sold Chloe better so apparently a few dark chocolate from last fall popped up. So they have a few floating around.

Anyway...does anyone have a pic of what is on the way to me? Last fall's chocolate brown?

I got the medium. great! but would you say its a dark chocolate brown and the python and leather are pretty close in color?? thanks again!
