welcome back meowmix! does anyone know if chloe plans on bringing back the original saddle leather?

thanks you know, honestly i think the chances of them bringing back the original leather are slim, just because its a bit more fragile... and also chloe never really brings back the same things (like same color, same leather, etc.) although it seems the paddington was an exception perhaps because of the "limited" quantities they produced in the first round

Not sure what people mean by the new leather on the Chloe silverados, but I had one in the original regular leather last year but let it go. The leather was so soft and smooth but got scratches in it alot so you had to be really careful. But having said that, I do agree the new leather looks too shiny and fake.

eep sorry i didn't catch this.. haven't been on as much. gosh i don't think it should take any longer than two weeks! i hope you received it... the process is usually that they give you a call and fax you some forms to fill out. i've called customs about the 2k amount and they said that you should be fine if all of your paperwork is in order... i think if they need more information, which they may for such a high amt, they may also contact whoever sold it to you... if they don't reply in a timely fashion it could mean more delays. do you have a tracking number? does it keep saying they're holding it? call whatever company is shipping it with your tracking number and ask them what's going on...they should be able to direct you to some ppl who would have more answers.

No problem. The seller has agreed to give me a refund because I concluded that the bag was confiscated by Customs in the US. Python cannot be "imported" into the US without the proper paperwork because it is considered an endangered species under a global treaty called CITIES. (I think this is why LV does not sell Chloe python bags on its website or says not for export). Plus, because seller was honest and declared the real value of the bag on the box it was over the $2000 limit for informal entries. Anything being sent to the US with a declared value over $2000 has to have formal entry paperwork filed in order for it to be "imported" into the US and in order to file the paperwork, you need a customs broker! Because my box had no paperwork it was opened - they saw the python and that was the end of the story! Customs and Border patrol has a page on its website that discusses internet purchases - I wish I had read it 3 months ago!

I also posted this picture in the celebrity handbags thread, but here is a recent picture of Lindsay and her Chloe python. Can someone tell me if this is the medium size or the large size? And this is the natural color, if I'm correct?

I would say it's the natural/diamond (officially called "marbre") in the large size.

Hmm, I saw that dudeiloveyou has a Chloe python Silverado in Natural up for sale on eBay (also with the Lindsay Lohan picture I scanned, ...yay I'm famous!)

Anyhow, I can't decide if I want to purchase it off eBay from dudeiloveyou or if I want to wait. I put my name down on a list at Neiman Marcus in King of Prussia PA, but there's no telling when they'll get one in, even if I'm only the 4th or 5th on the list. I just like the idea of purchasing from a department store only because I can return it if it's not up to par (i.e. scales are curling, not what I expected, etc).

The auction ends tonight! What do you all think?

Bergdorf's had a large natural available on line this morning - may still be there.

the naturals aren't that hard to find. check Bergdorf's and Neiman's sites periodically and you will eventually find one. also, if you want a medium, the Nordstrom in Beachwood, Ohio had one a couple weeks ago (they also had a large but I think it sold).

Well, I checked Bergdorf's and they didnt have any, but then I tried the Nordstrom in Beachwood and they had one left so I asked them to hold it for me until Saturday. Then I asked if it has been handled at all or if it has been out on display and the SA told me not at all.

After I hung up, I thought about it and thought it was kind of weird that it hasn't been on display or been handled. If it's the last one, why would they not display it?

perhaps they meant that it's not sitting on a shelf gathering dust and being touched by curious fingers. all the chloe bags are kept in a glass case (which is probably locked) and from the wide selection of silverados and other bags they had, people in cleveland must not be very interested. have them ship it to you and if you don't like it, send it back.

Thanks to all for your help! I took LilyGirl's advice and just called around to a bunch of NM's and Nordstroms. I think I called almost every one of them in the entire country. (But that's the exciting part, right?) I managed to find 1 medium and 1 large in the Natural.

Now the big debate: the medium or the large!

I went back and checked this entire post and read all the medium/large debates. And I am still undecided. I never thought I'd obsess this much over the size of a bag!

I have the medium sized in the "diamond" skin.

The large looks more like a duffle IMO, and i think the skin on the natural can be "washed" out in a large, i saw a girl carrying it, and it was not nice.

But it's all up to you, it also how long you are etc, a large one can look good on you if you are tall. im not really much help here, sorry

I'd get both if my credit card balance wasn't already so high. So I have to decide on only 1, which is sad!

I'm 5'2" and probably about Nicole Richie's size so maybe I should just go with the medium? Pucci_Mama, you said you have a medium. What can you usually fit in there without stuffing the bag to its limit?

I normally carry my mp3 player, wallet, keys, make-up bag, T-mobile sidekick, phone, and just random junk. But I'm sure if the medium were more aesthetically appealing, I could minimize my things.

I've always carried rather large bags and have no problem with it looking overwhelming, but since you said that large one may look "washed out" and that the one you saw a girl carrying was not very nice, I might just go for the medium.

It's just that the large in the Chloe ad, and the one Lindsay Lohan is carrying looks so nice!

I was suggesting you get both and return one -- not keep them both! anyway, at one time I had both the medium and large in the natural and was able to compare them side by side. I am petite too (5'1") and I loved the way the large looked worn on the shoulder -- just like in the ad. oversized and squashy, tres chic. and it holds a lot more. I have a brown medium and while it easily fits my regular stuff (wallet, etc.), there is no room for the occasional magazine and bottle of water. however, when held in the hand the large does look large -- the medium is more aesthetically pleasing as a hand-held bag. it's a tough choice, hence my suggestion that the only way to really know is to try both. there you go, my $.02.
