Meomix - thanks. Do you know how long it usually takes to clear customs? It's been about a month so far. I read something on the Custom internet site which says that if the value is greater than $2000 you have to send someone to claim the bag (e.g. hire a customs broker).

papillion - It does look fabulous in real life too I was the same with you at first I'd seen from some the pictures which didn't do any justice until I found the pic from one seller on e-bay and the opinions from the members who have seen the real bag...then I decided to go ahead and got it.

I found the original brown python in large size up for auction on ebay the item no. 5392802165. The seller is asking for GBP 4500 for buy it now price. I think it's insence.

The bag doesn't look worth for that price -imo.

I agree the BIN price is too high - but someone may pay that much. Anyway, the seller is reputable - I've purchased 2 bags from her without any problem. She quotes a high BIN price b/c it is a business - you are better off just watching the auction and keeping your fingers crossed that no one offers an outrageous price!

Finally saw, felt, held and tried on a Large silverado, albeit calf leather, recently... Fabulous fabulous fabulous...

The less attractive aspect of the Large Calf is that the leather is so soft, that the shape does not hold very well on its own i.e. floppy. Looks better with a generous amount of stuff inside, which can anchor the bag and not allow it to be too floppy.
On the shoulders, it looks heaps better. Also it looked fabulously trendy yet subtly so, masculine yet feminine... As with all Chloe bags, the casual "roughness" (as opposed to Chanel's "sophistication") of the style and aesthetics will go so fabulously well with feminine outfits i.e. "hard" big bags with "soft" flowy ephemereal dresses...
Also I am currently inspired by Nicole Richie's (revamped) look of tiny girl in soft flowy tops & dresses with a huge bag... Of course I am not as tiny as her although the similar height...
Any feedback on a Calf Silverado... ?

I don't like the leather silverados, especially the brown. the soft leather isn't as nice as the original saddle leather and makes them look cheesy and fake.

and I too like the look of the large, but only on the shoulder. in the hand it looks like luggage.

I wanted a Silverado in plain leather (while I like the look of snakeskin, it’s just not for me) but didn’t like the versions with satin & cord trim...I love this new soft leather! Because of the slouchy unstructured shape it doesn't look too massive- even in the large size. I use this bag when I’m on the go with my baby daughter and it holds everything we need for the day & more...

It does have a retro 70s feel, even more so in this version than in the old leather IMO, but the lovely quality keeps it from looking tacky. I also think the leather will age well...anyway, sorry for going on & on. I would recommend it

i'd advise you not to order high demand accessories from neimans. i've heard nothing but horror stories... people receiving returned merchandise in terrible condition... try calling your local neimans instead and have them find one for you

totally agree about the leathers. although it seems the new ones may not scratch as easily, they're just too shiny... it makes them look rather cheap

eep sorry i didn't catch this.. haven't been on as much. gosh i don't think it should take any longer than two weeks! i hope you received it... the process is usually that they give you a call and fax you some forms to fill out. i've called customs about the 2k amount and they said that you should be fine if all of your paperwork is in order... i think if they need more information, which they may for such a high amt, they may also contact whoever sold it to you... if they don't reply in a timely fashion it could mean more delays. do you have a tracking number? does it keep saying they're holding it? call whatever company is shipping it with your tracking number and ask them what's going on...they should be able to direct you to some ppl who would have more answers.
