Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I assume it's the tan bag that has the extra pocket, no tie straps, etc.? I've had and seen many silverados from the first season to present and none had a second pocket and all had the leather ties that go around the end pockets. sounds like the tan is fake and someone got duped. that's really scary.

so I found this bag on eBay (item # 5417275808) from who I think is a reputable seller and it does appear to have the additional cell phone pocket and different ties:

so perhaps yours is real after all and is the latest style. huh.

and I would add that it makes sense that the two bags are so different. the buttercream is old and was probably a return ( was this the one without a dust bag?) so it is made of the softer, shinier leather. the new ones are made from the original saddle leather (which I prefer) which is thicker, stiffer and more scratch prone.

Thank you Pucci, I will get right on that as soon as I can!

AllThingsNice, are you positive it is illegal? :o I would never have thought that.

i know that chloe europe will not import python anywhere other than europe and same goes for luisaviaroma also in australia they don't allow it at all.

Here's a better photos of the outer pockets, one with the "dangles" and one without.

Lilygirl,
The tan is the one with the cell phone pocket (pocket was bigger than I originally thought, cell phone size, not credit card size) but it does have those cute hanging ties. The buttercream one came without the dustbag, and what's more, the bag was just stuffed into the smallest shipping box. Fed Ex delivered both today and the box from Saks was nearly 3 times the size of the Neiman Marcus box! Yet, when Neiman's showed the bag on their website, it definitely had those cute hanging ties!
The "tan" is not what I'd call tan at all. It clashes with everything in my closet that's brown, camel, beige etc. so that one is definitely not staying. :sick:now I have to go into my closet and put all my shoes back neatly.

like I said, since the buttercream is an old color this must be a return hence the lack of dustbag, small box and lack of ties (I now suspect that the ties came off, if that's possible).

I fully agree with Lilygirl. It probally was a return. I know Neimans will take anything back and there is no time frame for a return.

How sad! You know there wasn't even a Neiman's tag on the bag! So, it's very possible that not only was it returned, but it was used? Ugh!

Does anyone know if this buttercream was from Spring 2005, or earlier?

Thanks so much!

Just want to add my two cents about Neiman's. I worked there for quite a long while. I've seen it ALL. They absolutely will take A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G back, and, even worse, they will attempt to resell everything. I joke that they are a resale shop.

Aimee, return it and DEMAND your shipping fee back. If you live near a Neiman's, they will send it back for free.

I'm quite sure it was used. but the absence of a neiman's tag isn't telling -- none of the bags I've ordered on-line have them (because they are shipped from the warehouse, not the store which is where they put the tags on). I believe it was a spring '05 color.

I love neiman's and I've found the customer service to always be stellar. the problem isn't the generous return policy but the people who abuse it. I admit that I've returned items months later, but they were never used and generally didn't even come out of the box (which is why I returned them). I am very busy (all appearances to the contrary) and do most of my shopping on-line which means I return a lot so if neiman's cracks down because of the problems, I will be seriously bummed.

just get on-line, tell them it's defective and they will take care of everything. that's what they did for my defective spy and they found me a new one (which they assure is perfect) to boot.

You are right, it is the people who abuse it that ruin it for those of us who just want to get what we paid for.

^ Those pics are from a photo soot for.. I think Instyle magazine. I don't think she actually own it :)

aimee3 - I think meena purchased the butter cream reasonly may be you colud PM her where she got her from. Form the picture she posted I can't see those cute hanging ties. But yes definately the pics from NM website has the ties.

The Buttercream you received was from Spring 2005 and since they've long been sold out, I'm sure it was a return. (As pointed out above though, the lack of a tag on it isn't an issue.) But all the Spring 2005 leathers (including that Buttercream, as well as the Spring Naturel/Tan version) had the smooth calfskin leather, no hanging ties off the end pockets and no inside cell phone pocket, so yours makes sense.

The Naturel/Tan you received is from Fall 2005 and that one is buffalo and saddle leather, has the hanging ties and an inside cell phone pocket. The color is also different than the Spring version was.

So I'm sure both are authentic bags, but I can certainly understand why you'd be upset with the way they sent them to you - you shouldn't have any trouble returning them though.
