hmm.. the medium fits the most of he basic things i need, makeup, mobile, keys, wallet, etc.

not really a water bottle though, i have to squash it in..but i would never do that anyway in case of spilling.

i like to go around hand holding mine in the hand, so there is no competition, it depends on the skin you get, but the large CAN look washed out. I saw this girl carrying it, in May when i was on my way to pick up mine, and i almost started to cry cuz i thought it looked so ugly, and washed out.

But to my suprise the medium was everything i ever wanted, i love it, is my baby.

I am petite like Olsen twins type, and i am fool for large oversized bags but for some reason i went for the medium one. And i have never regrettet the decision. plus the large in the ad, was an x-large one made just for the ad, i was told by the store manager at chloe' london.

I would vote for the medium.

Medium the large one has the join of the python skin in the middle(section) of the bag from the front through the back coz I think the python skin piece is to small to be used for the whole middle section of the bag for the large size.

edna...like you I experienced the Medium vs Large python dilemma. With no actual nor physical sighting of a silverado within my region, I had to rely on this forum, magazines but mostly info from this forum to make my decision. I finally decided on a Medium, which I got from Chloe NY and shipped to a friend in TN. I'll only be getting the bag end of this month when my friend will be here for a holiday. I'm similar height to you and pucci_mama. That was back in end Mar - early April.

2 weeks ago I saw a Large leather silverado in buttercream (beige with a pink undertone)...and I was in love, yet again! Surprisingly, the Large DID look good, especially on the shoulder as what Lilygirl said. My brother who was with me at that time, and who is fairly handbag-savvy, (thanks to my bag-obssession) found the bag to be very attractive, unique and funky. As the leather was very soft, the Large had a slouchy, almost duffle-ly effect. Looked better with stuff in the bag as the weight will anchor the bag down.

I've always passed over the Large bags and totes in favour of small to medium sized bags. But now I am completely bowled over...this season, I'll be doing BIG bags !! And I'll start with the leather Silverado....

Perhaps the Large Natural that pucci_mama saw was treated with little TLC, hence the bag appeared washed out. Another reason attributing to the washed out look, could be that the batch of leather/snakeskin which that particular bag was made in had a lighter tone than the others.

Maybe one of the decision-making factors could be your personal preference for SHOULDER or HAND-HELD bags. BOTH are fabulous in their own unique way and will look fantastic either way. The Large looked great on Linsday Lohan and she is petite. Have fun sourcing for your bag, as I did mine...all the best!!!

Oh ya...Forgot to mention that the Python Large and the Calf Leather Large are different looking bags due to the different materials. As I've only seen the Leather Large, my comments are based only on the Large...

I am petite too (5'1") and I loved the way the large looked worn on the shoulder -- just like in the ad. oversized and squashy, tres chic. and it holds a lot more. I have a brown medium and while it easily fits my regular stuff (wallet, etc.), there is no room for the occasional magazine and bottle of water. however, when held in the hand the large does look large -- the medium is more aesthetically pleasing as a hand-held bag. it's a tough choice, hence my suggestion that the only way to really know is to try both. there you go, my $.02.

The leather one does not have the join of the leather in the middle section and I also prefer the big bag to the smaller bag having say that however with the python skin some of them you can see the join easily and that's probably the reason I decided to go for the medium -imo.

Baghag, you sure did make a lot of good points! oy... I'm stuck again. But it's a good thing I already ordered the medium an hour ago or else I'd be sitting here going crazy debating with myself again. So now I have no choice but to wait and see! I should be receiving it this Monday so I will post pictures as soon as I get it!

I'm hoping that if it does not work for me (i.e., doesn't fit most of my necessities comfortably) I may return it and get the large one as long as the other store still has it! But what a hassle. I am just hoping I will love the medium as much as pucci_mama loves hers! I dont know if I am more of a shoulder or hand-held bag kind of girl. I mostly hold my bags on my arm.

Also, I dont know if anyone is looking for one, but the Nordstrom in King of Prussia, PA had a small green python and a small red python when I called earlier tonight. The small red is on sale for 40% off of $1600, I believe. If only all pythons were on sale! And they also had a large python in the white/cream color.

Lillygirl, I was wondering if your medium brown was the old brown color, or one of the newer brown colors? Just wondering!

I have a medium and I'm tall 5'7"" and I think it looks big enough. I tried a large in Nordstroms and it looked too big even for my height.
