Christian Dior F/W 2016.17 : Julia Nobis by Steven Meisel

This is a smart move for Dior. Meisel has that magic touch that brings clothes to life. No other photographer can do that. The clothes look surprisingly good. :glare:

This is quite nice and I like the interesting composition. Eager to see the other shots.

I was shocked to see the photographer. Wow. I like the movement. But, I am not that fond of the cropping. It feels like she's in a box?

Love it so much.

Surprisingly good, it reminds me of his American Vogue edits. Julia looks ok, but I really would have preferred someone else. Even with the movement and lively styling, her expression is still dead.

Considering the clothes that Meisel had to work with, the result is beyond expectations.

Who styled this shoot??? I'm obsessed with that first shot.

Sorry I don't see it. Looks like another Vogue US jumping editorial to me. The clothes look awful, as does Julia's hair. And as so many other times I just don't find her face engaging in any way.

Are you serious? Did you look at her face? She looks caught off guard. And the whole images look like: we have to do something... what can we do? Well a studio shot is always fine. And that's it. As empty as that and as empty as it looks.

The clothes look way better than in the catwalk though. Who styled it? Benjamin or Carine? It looks very Carine but quite Brunish too, so who knows.

Now that you've mentioned it, it does look very Carine!!
Maybe I'm just fuelled by nostalgia, but it's so refreshing not to have yet another bunch of randoms standing around looking bored. She's wearing these clothes with such confidence.

I like it a lot.

Now I feel a little bad for talking so much trash about the collection cause here it looks good.
But I think they chose the few better pieces for the ad.

I can stand this bore for the transition period. but puleeez, stop such brainlessly safe strategy, I'm afraid next time my eyeballs won't be able to roll from the far back.:rolleye:
