Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 2007.08 Versailles

Wasn't Goya the one who painted the obese 'soft' looking people?

& Borini looks waaay out of place w/ the supers. & aww @ her being cropped out for most of the pictures that will go in magazines.

I love it more and more with every photo! Just can't wait to see the whole collection! :buzz:

I'm seeing some Velázquez (as has been pointed out) and Amber's blue dress looks very rococo.

But not seeing any other really obvious art historial references....yet! ^_^
The Menines by Velasquez and Botticelli on Naomi...
but me neither I don't see the rest...
I've posted the paintings somewhere here btw the "omg Elise", "omg Karen"..."fabulous gisele" etc.

Model in the "I murdered marchesa" dress looks like Kate, but that wouldn't make sense since she would've been up there at there at the end with Galliano.
and the white a bit shorter dress in #168 is very beautiful. A bit of the origami feel from the last collection is still there, looks like folded paper.

Love the Boticelli-inspired(?) look on Naomi... now if only it wasn't actually on Naomi.

^i thought that was daria in the white and red gown
