It doesn't look like you can make the Giles scarves so easily...you'd need knitting needles the size of a telephone pole and really really really thick yarn

Someone in the WAYWT thread had the coolest head/neck piece recently...
I want to say it was holiday.....


Such a great trend and oh so practical.
I will have to check out H&M for the neck pieces Softgrey mentioned....
though I am not expecting the quality to be that great.
I hate having itchy things on my neck.


I have tried to crochet so many big huge scarves b/c I can never find one big enough at the stores....
I have started alot and never finished one.

my schoolmate has an alligator scarf too..
except it's made of felt and bright green

Much too literal for my taste.


I like the purple one so much b/c you don't realize it's an alligator right away.

I really love that alligator scarf!

I was so close to buying the Twinkle by Wenlan knitting book (Twinkle's Big City Knits) but everything requires a certain type of chunky yarn (=expensive).

For scarves, I just cheat and use three skeins of yarn that I twist together . . .

just bought some yarn called 'baby print' by TAHKI yarns....pretty nice and thick. i did a twinkle vest pattern out of it last year and bought more today to do a chunky, cable neck thing...will post pics when it's finished..
