That Louis Vuitton bag is a crime against the world, it's so damn tacky & disgusting. I'm disappointing by the styling, and considering Patricia Field is the stylist, she's not doing a great job. The outfits are blah & look like they're trying to be high-fashion but failing

^ omg, these pictures are so painful to look at. It comes across as way too try-hard and kind of desperate. The only thing I like is the louboutins.

:woot:^_^ they've been shooting all over my neigborhood. from being nosey , that i am, it looks to be a good film and the lead, Isla Fischer, is indeed perfect for the part... (she was awesome!) those who have read the book, you know what i mean.

Sorry smartarse but I can't agree with you. I read this series over and over and Isla is not Becky Bloomwood (It's nothing against her).

I didn't know Pat field was doing it. She looks like a fashion victim not a fashionista.

These pictures are more proof that this is NOT the Shopaholic story just a movie with the same name.

at first i didnt think isla was the right person for the part when they announced it... but when i saw the outtakes, Isla was right on the money. granted it was a few scenes she had to do while i was checking out the filming since it was in my neighborhood.

if you're critiquing that she isn't british or the location is in ny you need to look past that and focus on the character isla plays. she is spot on, and perhaps more. but i'm basing that on the few scenes i saw she did.

I agree

^me too!

This whole thing is terrible.. I'm beginning to hate Hollywood more and more. They seem to ruin everything. :judge:

Thank goodness I found this thread, I looked at Isla's thread and people were commenting on her cute outfits and I thought whaaaat? The styling is not what I envisioned AT ALL, it's so over the top and bright, and just sort of tacky (for lack of a better word). It reminds me of something you would see in Legally Blonde, which worked for that movie and Reese's character but not for my precious Becky who I actually envisioned to have taste!

yeah I agree, the outfits pictured above are pretty sad. But then the whole plot and cast is pretty sad, too. Not looking forward! Damn and I loved the series so much!!

New pictures on set.

Who is that guy supposed to be?! And I'm kind of confused...is becky going to be british? I know it's set in NYC, but I was thinking that maybe they're sort of just combining the books (Shopaholic Takes Manhattan) Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.

Isla is lovely but I keep imagining Amy Adams in the role.

I loved the books (the first one was very funny, the rest were entertaining fluff) and look forward to seeing the movie.

It's been confirmed that John Goodman and Joan Cusack will be playing parents to Isla Fisher's character, a woman stressed out by mounting credit card debt while trying to navigate the New York magazine world.

OMG they are not Jane and Graham Bloomwood. They look like country bumpkins.

And Joan is not old enough to play the mother of a 25 year old.

My friends and I have been discussing the fashions and agree they have got it so wrong. Becky is on-trend but not over the top trendy. She is not Carrie Bradshaw.

I can't believe Sophie agreed to this mess.

And Becky Bloomwood would NEVER carry Louis Vuitton.

the outfits look horrible, just like s&tc knock offs. that old louis is discusting. its been years since i read the first book but i swear it was in london....?

Why do they even bother to say this movie is about the book when it's obviously so rewritten and not like it at all
They could have just made this movie, renamed the characters and it would have nothing to do with the book
Just like GG

Exactly Tinsley. That is what a lot of fans are saying.

OT: I love your blog.

Are they freaking kidding me?? Ughhh, I don't even want to see the movie at this point.
