I wonder if Anya Taylor Joy is huge enough to secure the September issue. It will be released around Emmy season and Last Night in Soho will be released around that time as well. She has Dior backing her. Surprised she has not popped up in any of their campaigns yet.

Let’s hope not. There have got to be at least a dozen or two singers who have massive global success, are more interesting, less overexposed in fashion magazines recently, and who would both sell better and create a bigger splash online than a Dula cover.

Harper's certainly knows where to hand out free magazines, very strategic.
There's a reason why they are the women's magazine with the highest income readers in the UK. Even ahead of Vogue.
Elle may want to take note and stop handing out free issues at the railway station.

The cover definitely looks so out of place. I imagine the shot would give the attendees a bit of yearning. not only for a proper summer day but also bygone youth.

Not sure who British Elle's August 2021 cover model is, but she's blonde, wearing a yellow swimsuit and frolicking on the beach - very much in the style of your typical (and gorgeous) French Elle x Gilles Bensimon moment.

I see it on ebay.co.uk - I also see this month's UK Elle and Bazaar are on sale as a multipack with a free Bobbi Brown mini mascara... and the design of the coverlines on the front of both magazines looks very similar, as if Hearst is cutting costs in a Conde Nast manner by trying to have the same team do every title.

She’s turning 40 in September. I could see a big cover shoot.

I don't know if he would post a whole look before a September shoot without even knowing if it will make it into the cover but am excited about a Beyonce US vogue cover something glamorous shot by a great photographer not her UK Vogue style cover. They'll need a powerful subject for September since they had the first lady for July

Maybe it's British Vogue, which I doubt because she was on the cover in December. Definitely not US.
I'm guessing it's US Harper's Bazaar, maybe even global.

A small tidbit regarding Vogue China's upcoming September 2021 cover/issue:

It was in that vein that Zhang also offered a hint at what to expect from her first issue, the magazine's September edition, which will involve open-casting for the cover in the hopes of emphasizing "democratization" and new talent discovery. Sounds terrible. ''Democratization'' of Vogue? Girl, please. I can not deal with these delusional editors acting as if their fashion rag will fix all the global issues if only they pluck a random person off the street and put them on the cover.

I genuinely hope that in a month I'll come back here and take back everything I said, but all I'm getting from this little preview is that the cover is going to be ugly and forgettable (as will the magazine, most likely). Starting your tenure with an open-casting sets a terrible tone and I personally already hate it. Luckily, like most editors at CN nowadays, she'll probably be gone before she's even started. And then we'll have to deal with a whole new set of troubles cause they just keep getting worse I don't know where they find these people.

Fashion magazines in 2021: pictures of painfully average people who can't pose, but 'deserve' to be in Vogue as some sort of participation prize in life.

Besides, if this 'open casting' is anything like other talent competitions, a winner has already been selected, long before the charade of auditioning the general public.

Wow, this is going into the viral/reality tv realm which they're obviously betting will create some buzz? But at the core it's basically an admission that there is no plan, they have no idea what the reader wants and they have no interest in catering to the existing Vogue reader either.

Despite not having seen the contents of the August issue, American Vogue is already advertising the release of its September issue on their website, which is "almost here" - with the image (below) accompanying a subscription page (which fails to give ANYTHING away as to who's on the cover)...
