Cover Rumor Thread

Not sure if this is legit, but there's a cover credit for Vogue Australia January 2023 on Charlee's Models.com page! Very happy for her if this is in fact the cover.

Is only digital, was for an event they had a few weeks ago

Newspaper fashion and style supplements orient themselves towards an older audience, I find.

Suits me perfectly! I know they usually do a long in-depth feature on fashion figures in those issues. The interview never 'trends' but it's still very insightful and well written.

Whatever happened to System? And MissMagAddict now that think of it??

Oh and the Rihanna rumour is indeed true, which Vogue and when I can't say.

I'm more intrigued with American Vogue's cover star at the end of this month...

^ yes, WSJ. Magazine has solid, adult-oriented fashion content.

Benn, don’t play coy. Please spill, you’ve been keeping all the little tidbits about covers to yourself all (last) year!

Would they waste Rihanna on anything other than US or UK Vogue? Unless there's a particular territory she wants to target for business purposes...

Given the current hierarchy of editions, if you're a celebrity that finds themselves considered for the cover of German Vogue, should you be worried that your star is on the wane?

I don’t know why and I’m probably way off, but my gut is telling me Kate Middleton shot something back in November/December while in the US for a few days.

I think it would do extremely well, the only real question is if she/her team would be willing to do it.

oh my thought is her and William wont do any covers until the Harry mess is over.

Will it ever be over? Harry's plugging the new book right now, and I'm sure future projects are already in the works.

With the Queen now having passed away, Prince Charles being unpopular, Camilla being unpopular, negative rumors about William swirling, the Prince Andrew scandal still not settled, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex working overtime to push their narrative, I think the Royal Family genuinely need a win and a more proactive positive PR approach. Kate (and her children) are their best shot at that, imo.

As much as people talk about appealing to an American audience, it's also a world where success is much admired. When the only thing on offer is constant whinging without impressive achievements to match, the world will tire of it soon enough, because it only builds up a picture of people who lose at every turn - massive failures.

Anyhow, we could be here all day with our many-splendoured opinions about our over-privileged royal betters - some dates for the next round of UK magazines:

Tatler - was out 5th Jan, haven't seen it yet
Elle - was out 5th Jan, saw it on sale in Sainsburys
Bazaar - due out 12 Jan
Cosmo - Feb-Mar issue is due out 17th Jan
Vogue - 24th Jan
Vanity Fair - 24th Jan
Red - Feb issue out now, March due 26th Jan

No release date given for GQ but Esquire will be out 9th Feb.

Wonderland will come out on 17th Jan, while Pop's spring-summer issue is listed for release on 17th March, no release date shown for the next issue of i-D, The Face or Dazed & Confused.

Personally I'd take Kate over any person who calls foul by decrying a system they benefitted from for years. If that person was given everything they wanted, they surely would still be in line and none of this media play.

Could be anyone, but if the shoe fits.

Also if there will be any backlash over a Kate cover, that would certainly come from keyboard warriors who, most likely, do not even know the website of Vogue or spend hours on TikTok. The average American Vogue reader (who actually buys the magazine) would not care. Apart from family drama, Kate's advocacies still align with the readers of Vogue who lean heavily on the left.

And would Brits even care? They're facing far worse realities (rising cost of living among others) to even bother.

If Kate had shot a cover I find it very hard to believe it would come out anywhere near the Netflix series or book to be honest. Their approach has very much been to remain silent and seemingly take the ‘high road’. Make of it what you will, but arriving on the cover of a magazine at the same period the book comes out would be a huge countermove and I just doubt her people would do it.
