Jennifer Lopez has a movie coming out on Netflix next month and an album coming out this summer... Edward, you already have the girl, you just need Meisel or Mert & Marcus to do the rest!

PS: Even a well-budget shoot involving these names would be great to make amends for the tragic British Vogue covers and editorials we've had these last few months.

Maybe he was costing too much time/money/effort, for too little return in terms of social media.

The people impressed by Vogue using the man (if only for his name) are probably no longer the main target audience of the magazine these days.

Her fault lies in catering to masses. A big part of the problem are masses who would prefer photographers, stylists and models who represent something socially over those who represent something creatively.

I think the problem is budget, really. Up-and-coming photographers will do shoots for pennies on the dollar and be grateful for the exposure - which leads both to the jobs that really pay and to jobs for smaller publications where they have more creative control. Tyler Mitchell, for example, has leveraged this early opportunities and now shoots ads for Marni, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, etc. Meisel isn't cheap, Annie isn't cheap. They can't afford them every month, thanks to CN's financial issues. As it happens, pandering to the social media crowd is more affordable.

What happened to EJG? I miss him in American Vogue.

If we don't have Meisel in Vogue, I hope another magazine hires him! Even though he's been on autopilot and been pretty tedious in his recent work, he's still the best when it comes to studio shots.

Editorially, no. And I'm not aware of any campaigns they may have shot together either, but I might be wrong there.

American Vogue is indeed doing a cover for one of the big blockbusters coming up soon! Which one I can't say, but at least the photographer choice puts me at ease. Their new signature photographer imo. They already shot multiple covers and folks on here generally like their work.

If it's for Barbie, Miles Aldridge's photography suits for the movie's camp and
colorful aesthetic if they'd go all the way to theme, but I have no problem with EJG.
I think he's a safe (and right) choice for Margot's cover shoot.
