Cover Rumor Thread

We deserve one last legendary September Vogue cover with the supers runited. Please! It's the perfect opportunity.
Wonder if will be by Leibovitz for US or by Meisel for UK. What I’m almost sure that Zendaya will be the other september cover.

Speaking of the supermodels, there’s someone on Instagram congratulating makeup artist Stephane Marais on being “part of that future September issue to come.. a real family reunion”.

The topic of supermodels feels like playing a dead horse at this point. If they do get a group cover (either by Meisel or Annie) I expect a lot of horrible photoshop work.

The rate they're reusing content, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the Same shoot used for all VOGUE international covers.

August could be Edward's last issue and then September is the first Global issue.

So, now that actors are also on strike it means they can’t do promotion or publicity services for their work. So no interviews. Things are done months in advance of course. But does that mean we will get less actor covers in the near future?

If there is any actor/actress on next month's covers, I think they will be canceled or postponed, unless they are not members of SAG, but I think the strike is only valid in American territory and in some states, some studios to circumvent the strike went to other states to continue the production of some movies. But now that the actors have joined the strike, I think the studios will come to terms more quickly, despite some experts are predicting it to be in October.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I can't imagine the strike lasting too terribly long. Studios and streamers not having actors promoting their existing films/shows and writers not working on new ones... something's got to give. However, if an actor already did the photoshoot and gave the interview, I can't imagine a magazine canceling the cover. The work is already done, I suppose a magazine could decide to cancel out of solidarity, but I think that would be kind of a useless gesture.

But in the meantime, maybe that means more model covers? Or they'll just do influencers and musicians lol.

Fran Drescher deserves more recognition after this. A good opportunity for a cover, she's an underated icon.

IF they get a group cover, I can’t wait to see how they’re going to present Linda, is she going to insist on a balaclava? Will she be obscured by the others somehow?

And with regards to upcoming covers and the SAG-AFTRA strike, I think we could have our usual suspects of celebrities as long as they’re not promoting a film, tv show, etc. their own brand, books, and even theatre performances on broadway (the Actors' Equity union for those, not SAG-AFTRA) could be promoted, theoretically.

There will also likely have been a bank of covers shot in advance before announcements, so I assume they can still be used and therefore the films/shows will still be promoted by the star?

Assume it could however impact things due to come out later in the year, where covers would be being shot in the coming weeks/months.

Bridgerton drops on Netflix at Christmas for example, Dune would be a big one I assume could have landed it’s stars covers etc,
