Cover Rumor Thread

I don't believe Angelina Jolie would do a feature and not a cover.......

Ohh an Angelina Jolie cover with a Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt feature about their movie. That a must have issue

Can we start a petition via change.org to boycott Madame Alt and her choices?

She's the one eic we actually shouldn't boycott. Successful models appearing on Vogue covers multiple times a year (yes, even multiple months in a row) isn't news! It's always been like that, but we're just too used to seing ''new'' faces every month. I'd much rather take a beautiful model like Rianne over some overhyped celebrity or Insta model. You can't deny that Rianne does the job well - each cover feature this year has been absolutely stellar and I sincerely hope to see her in the 100th anniversary issue because at this point she's a big part of VP's present and it wouldn't be the same without her. I do understand people may become frustrated with the cover subject being repetitive but the covers aren't even remotely alike! As long as she's as excellent as she is in what she does, I hope she keeps booking these high profile gigs and I'll always be thrilled to see her!

I can't recall any good cover by VP recently, none of the decent covers last 3 years are feature Rianne anyway. And there is plenty of newcomers/supermodels and any other face which might be on the pages of Vogue Paris, Rianne is in almost each and every issue, she even outrun Edie Campbell (there was a time, i mixed up Rianne and Edie), and Edie was Emmanuelle fav back in a day. Getting full 1000th issue was such a disrespect for any kind of legacy from Alt. I mean you had such a story with VP, but what she did for this issue - 4 editorials with same model what she put on every issue - is the same kind of ignorance as Hedi Slimane collections at Saint Laurent after Stefano Pilati: Hedi just obliterate everything and make some rock star nonsense, same as he did at every place.

Fair enough, but I personally believe that a strong issue is far more important than a strong cover. Of course, it's ideal to have both but beggars can't be choosers and the times are... rough right now when it comes to quality fashion content. This is all very subjective so I guess we all have our own take on the situation, but for me personally Vogue Paris is the only magazine I look forward to each month because I know that I'll find at least some good editorials inside. Can't say the same for any other magazine unfortunately.

i`m still waiting for VP each month, but its more like conditioned reflex: every moth is such a disappointment. Since 2018 until now i recall 4 well packed issues: October 2018, February 2019, April 2019, November 2019 – 4 issues out of 30... I mean i am still buying quite often, but it's just an habit.
I don't care much about covers, i care about content way more. Alt has all capabilities to create her very own pull of models, give them major professional start, she has this power of the brand in her hands, but she work with familiar small circle which tends to turn into 1 model.

Further to the notion of Kate Moss appearing on the cover of UK Vogue, there'll also be forthcoming features about Kim Jones at Fendi and "Angelina Jolie at home".

Kate Moss? I wonder who will shoot her (M&M are the ones that do her most justice IMO but they’re kinda vanishing aren’t they?)
regardless, I am not looking forward...

I cannot believe that a fanboy like Edward is going to have a spread with Angelina Jolie and not give her a cover! also, I would love to see her facing British Vogue. if only Meisel would shoot her...

but darling, I have bought many magazines due to their editorials and content mostly but in all fairness, it’s all about who’s on the cover isn’t it? hence why we even have a thread called ‘Cover Challenge’.

two covers in a row for Rianne, career wise is amazing! of course. no model (or agency behind her) would ever say no to a Vogue cover.
I said this before, and I’ll say it again, Rianne’s Paris Vogue covers have been hits and misses (same as Alt’s tenure - I really don’t get the praise, she’s on a loop since she started and editorial wise she was far better under Carine).

IMO Alt is trying with Rianne what was once tried with models like Daria (sigh), Lara (sigh), Natasha... IT’S NOT THE SAME.
dear Lord it’s almost blasphemy. (I know I’m reaching AHAHHA let me vent :P)

PREACH! I couldn’t agree more!
don’t even remind me of that 1000th issue! I had such high hopes, an immense opportunity and we got thAt!!!

I lost all faith in fashion magazines I will admit. month after month I dread what will come up instead of daydreaming with new magazine covers and editorials.
what the f*ck happened?

I remember many years ago I used to think: US Vogue is like the mother of Vogues it serves a general purpose, has good fashion and the spectrum despite being American is very international. British Vogue was like the American Vogue but for English people. but it was good, glossy.
Vogue Paris was an European Vogue edition, bolder and sexier and Vogue Italia was the artsy one, with amazing art work and incredible supplements (all those Vogue Italia Casa, the Accessories ones and OMG the Couture Supplements were untouchable!)
and now it’s all... as we can see.
apologies if out of topic. :flower:

It took an age for newsstand.co.uk to list the release dates for the next set of UK magazines - UK Bazaar, Tatler and Elle are coming out around 1-3 December, while Red will appear on 8 December, and UK Vanity Fair will be out on 11 December.

UK Vogue and Cosmo have no exact release dates listed yet, but UK Vogue itself lists the on-sale date of its January issue as 4 December.

Agreed 3000000%

Wasn't sure where to put this but since it had to do with covers I thought I'd put it here.

White House 'insiders' blame Melania's closest aide for first lady 'missing out on magazine cover to Meghan Markle' as Trumps' inner circle turn on each other - and one says 'it's every man for himself'

  • Members of the Trump administration have started turning on one another
  • One of Melania Trump's closest aides was subject of a hit piece in New York Post
  • White House 'insiders' blamed Stephanie Grisham for the first lady missing out on a magazine cover to Meghan Markle
  • 'Out of nowhere and a complete hit piece,' a senior administration official described it to DailyMail.com
  • More pieces likely to come as staff fight for post-White House jobs and want to make sure their work is painted in the best possible light
  • 'When it’s out of the starting gating on Jan 20th, it’s every man for yourself,' a senior administration official said

So Meghan Markle is landing an American cover?

However since it came from the Daily Mail, I'll take this with severe caution.

One thing that made me suspicious about this is the month. Meghan Markle for January (one of the thinnest issues of the year)? If its for March, why on earth will Melania expect her to land a cover when she's no longer the First Lady at that time. If she were banking on a March cover, she didn't lose it because of Meghan or hardly is it the fault of that Stephanie. She lost the cover because her husband's landslide loss.

Or were they referring to Vanity Fair October 2017 with Meghan Markle?

Lol bold of them to even dare booking a Vanity Fair cover. Have they been reading the taglines of Vanity Fair? Lol
