Crème de la Mer unveils new Illuminating Eye Gel

Rebecca Mann | The Moodie Report said:
Crème de la Mer is set to expand its eye portfolio with the new Illuminating Eye Gel, which will be available in travel retail doors in Europe and the Middle East from January.

The treatment is said to brighten eyes on contact, soothing the entire eye area while the brand’s signature “Miracle Broth” helps fight against the early signs of ageing. This invigorates, hydrates, soothes and jump-starts the skin’s natural renewal process. The result, claims La Mer, are youthful, energised and awakened eyes.

Key components of the formula are the new Awakening and Illuminating Ferments. The former features mineralised algae to refine and plump, while antioxidants protect against the ageing effects of fatigue, stress and pollution – the invisible drivers of ageing.

The latter ferment – developed exclusively for the eye area – comprises a sea-sourced blend of ingredients to combat dullness and promote a clear, even, luminous look. In addition, anti-irritants help calm and soothe.

Crème de la Mer The Illuminating Eye Gel is presented in a 15ml pump dispenser and will retail domestically at around £100.

I'm looking forward to that too. I'm currently using La Mer's eye concentrate at night and I really love it. I find eye gels work better for me during the day (I'm using an eye gel by AmorePacific) but would love to see how this gel is.

La Mer, which uses sustainably hand-harvested sea kelp within its formulations, is once again supporting World Oceans Day – which takes place annually on 8 June – with a special limited edition.

Throughout the month of June a 100ml ‘Blue Heart’ presentation of the brand’s signature Crème de la Mer will be available in travel retail doors worldwide. The special jar design aims to communicate the brand’s ongoing goal of protecting the ocean – the ‘blue heart’ of the planet.

In addition, as in previous years, La Mer is joining forces with the National Geographic Society, and its next generation of ocean explorers. In 2015, the brand will support Dr David Gruber and Shannon Switzer, in addition to National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Dr Sylvia Earle, renowned for bringing the importance of healthy ocean habitats to the forefront of conservation movements worldwide.

“The ocean is an integral part of La Mer’s heritage, and we are committed to celebrating the beauty and bounty of the ocean throughout the year,” noted La Mer Global Brand President Sandra Main. “We continue to be inspired by the National Geographic Society, Dr Sylvia Earle and the Society’s ocean explorers, whose work reminds us that we can all help protect the blue heart of our planet.”

“This is the sweet spot in time," added Dr Earle. "As never before, and maybe as never again, there is a chance to protect the natural systems that keep us alive."

Since 2006 La Mer has donated over US$2.6 million to help promote ocean conservation efforts globally. For more information visit blueheart.cremedelamer.com
