Creme De La Mer

I think it depends on your skin type, some people just arent prone to wrinkles and acne. Buy what you like, but just know that cheaper products can probably do the same thing. If it were really that good it would be more than 130-500 a jar I will tell ya that right now.

I actually tried it and compeltely did not like it! I expect more for that pricetag. So i strick with my Caviar luxe cram by La Prairie. Its slightly more expensive but it works. At leastfor me

I think the cream is much overrated...I once bought it, but it's just not for young people, more for people with paper skin. But also to them I would advise Nivea:innocent:

I personally bought the Face Spray. Now that summer's coming, i would definitely get that for my mom (if i had the money to buy another one.) It was really good, made my face feel really refreshed and moisturized. But then again, Evian has like the same one for a fraction of the price... I've also used to moisturising cream, you take a bit, put it on the knuckles of your palms, rub your hands together, and blot it on your face. I thought it was pretty good. Makes you glow in the morning. Hope that helped! :D

even though i am a huge advocate of CDLM, its summer now and i dont think anyone (except with seriously dry skin) should use it in the summer, its too hot and the cream is very very emollient. Switch to something lighter for the summer, currently i switched to lancomes aquafusion. its light and smells good, plus its a pretty blue color!

They just keep expanding the line, don't they?

If the original cream is so miraculous, why do they need to add extras?

I feel it's all marketing and business as usual... :innocent:

I know some members swear by the cream, and it may be exceptional, but these add-ons seem like an attempt to easily make extra money by milking the CDLM reputation a bit too much....

... this is really bothersome that CDLM has such mixed reviews... ofcourse there are diff opinions and needs but still- its so prestigous and pricey... I really expected more :D and less :yuk: ...

what is creme de la mer the powder ?? can some pls help

There was La Mer makeup but i think it was discontinued.

oh right thanks !! that clears that up, i was so confused i thort it was some kind of powder cream lol :P

My mom swears by Crème de la Mer. It's too rich for my skin, but the eye balm and oil absorbing lotion are the best - definitely worth the price tag :flower:

I really like it. I used to have an oily Tzone but now I would say my skin is medium to dry. Despite the dryness, I have trouble finding lotions that will actually absorb into my skin. La Mer was the first I tried that had great moisture and actually absorbed into and hydrated my skin.

i am considering to get the eye balm, oil absorbing lotion & The SPF 18 Fluid?

but my question is do i need to get thier cleanser & tonic the oily skin one-?? is there anything special about them?? or i can use any different cleansers???

& what about the spf18 have anyone tried it yet???

I dont like the fact it had Petroleum and or mineral oil. Its far down the list of ingredients, but still—for that price they could have picked a natural oil to use in its place.

I've found that I don't need to regularly use it. I used it for 2 weeks straight and the effects stayed for well over a few months. So now whenever my skin needs a pick me up I'd use it again for a week straight, then switch back to my normal moisturizer. I have very "normal" skin but it's still very rich for me so I only use it at night. I still use it from time to time after I do an at-home mask or "peel"

please help before i make my credit card scream to death

i bought the creme de la mer lotion yesterday after using a sample for a few weeks. I was spacing out about the cost and when I signed the receipt for $165+ tax I sort of inwardly gagged.

But using it at night (with Roc retinol night cream and an eye cream) is really beneficial. It's sort of cheesy but for the last few weeks since I started using it i've had several people complement my skin as "radiant" or "glowing" which is nice. I'm 28 and look younger for my age, but I did smoke for many years so I'm trying to reverse the possible damage.

my friend used her grandma's Crème de la Mer and she said it was brilliant and did her skin great^_^ . I've heard it's really good.

imo, the eye balm sucks. It makes my eyes sting, which doesnt happen with the regular cream, which I rather like.

this product is my fav, and that is out of about 30 dif eye treatments. Drugstore.com 14.29

Have any of you who use Creme de La Mer experienced problems with blackheads? I ask because I recently came across an ingredients list, and the second ingredient in it is mineral oil. It also contains petroleum and paraffin. I've always understood mineral oil to be terrible for the skin -- it clogs pores, can't be absorbed, causes blackheads, etc.

However, this doesn't jive with the people who say they've experienced dramatic improvement in their skin from using it.

Can anyone comment on this? I am intrigued by the "mystique" around this product, but the more rational part of my brain is screaming that it would be insane to spend so much money on a product containing mineral oil (when that would be criteria for dismissing any other skincare product for me).
