Daily Exercise

I have sometimes used a brace for my stomach and back as well, they supposedly make you sweat more, blah blah blah, but I just like the feeling of it hugging against my stomach when I run. :P

:) Thank you for trying the Ballet workout, how was it by the way? :)

Well, depends there´s ones much more sofiscated and more expensive than the one I choose that are very comfortable and they can absorb ur transpiration.

hi :)

i just wanted to ask if anyone has some tips on how to get motivated to actually exercise? i always tell myself "tomorrow i'll start" but i never do. there is no gym near me, so that's not an option, sadly. at the moment if i am working out i am doing a bit of yoga with instructions from one of these yoga dvds. i've considered taking up jogging, but i really dislike running and i get bored so easily...and i have like no condition at all

thanks for your help :flower::heart:

Well, since you dont run on the threadmill, you could do elliptical, bc seriously imo u are losing time since u dont run there, you can get better results on the elliptical.
And other thing...treadmill is very insecure, not insecure when u are just walking bt when you are running yes.
The last time I did treadmill I put 16.0 of speed and I had to grab the machine with one arm bc u never know, u put a bit of ur foot out and then u hit the ground.

For ur lower back I would say that if u use this u will never have pains:

I do some elliptical not much I don't enjoy it and it doesn't get me tired or sweating... I don't think I'm wasting time on the treadmill  i find it's working fine for me, everyone is different. :)

I said that bc I sweat more doing elliptical in less time than doing treadmill.
Bt if you think the threadmill is working for you, nice:)

Well, you want to get motivated to do jogging.
Have you tried to get somebody to run with you?
Have you tried to take a mp3 and listen some music?

why you dont have conditions?

I would do this, it always works very silly. :)

If I don't really feel like it, I pick a time, say I'll work out for 10 minutes (always stretch first) and if I don't get into it, I'll stop. 9/10 times I always keep it up and do a full work out. :)

i went to the gym today ...
it was cut short when i was on the treadmill running the fastest time i've ever run on the treadmill before. i was so proud of myself ...
:D
when i looked out the window and started to rain ....
so my intended time of 3 hours: running 20 min. cardio 2 hours, was cut to only 60 minutes, with only 30 min. cardio, free weights 5 minutes, running 20 mins

MorganaLestrange I'd suggest making an awesome playlist you want to dance to or visualising your goal appearance. This works for me, when I feel lazy and too sore to head to the gym I imagine the body I want and dancing at a club (this is what works for me) and it drives me into consistency.

Today I did my workout with the variation of 20mins of treadmill with incline and 10mins of elliptical at full paced and I must say I got tired! I had it at a resistance of 8 or 9 :)

Then weights.. which last ages like 1.5 hours.. including abdominal workout..

=

Pilates Abs Sculpt (19mins)
Pilates Buns/Thighs (18mins)
Turbo Jam Fat Blaster(30mins)

Hour of ballet this morning. :P Very fun. Not sure of the calories burnt but my thighs feel really good. :D

Morning:
45 mins yoga

Afternoon:

The Ultimate Dance Workout - Pump it up! (70 mins)

I did this for the first time today and absolutely loved it! It was a bit frustrating at first since the dance moves are complicated and the instructor doesn't really explain them, but as I slowly got the hang of it, it was so much fun. I'm going to have to do it again to get the moves right, but that's what motivates me to keep going.

Walked to the store to get tea (2 miles?)

Question: my usual daily workout is the elliptical trainer. I have a "bad" knee, so I find running in any form extremely painful, but the elliptical is especially soft on my knees so I can actually get a good workout in. Is it bad that I use the same machine multiple times a week (usually my only workout besides occasional pilates/ice skating)?

* for bad/injured knees, ellipticals are always recommended by trainers and physical therapists

i don't see a problem with using the same machine multiple times a week .... except if other members wants to use it, that is if you're at a gym.

and if you're going to use the same machine you should change the levels and resistance as you get stronger.

I exercise Ayurveda-style, which is completely lazy sounding to Western minds. :meow: Basically it's ten minutes of stretching slash yoga plus a gentle ten minute walk. :p
