Daily Exercise

I usually do four yoga classes a week, for fitness. I am naturally skinny, but if you're skinny you're not necessarily fit, right?

i hate running on a treadmill... its so boring and the time goes by soooooooo slowly. So (when im not injured) i love running outside, at night, by myself, but i get so much poo about this from my family (apparently suburbia is really dangerous, like way more dangerous than nyc, tokyo, or la where i can run freely without being nagged..). So im trying to find a gym that has a track, because i figure that will be better than a treadmill... any other suggestions for safer running?

yeah another one of the differences between running on a treadmill and "the real thing" is obviously you have to keep up with the treadmill and "real" running you have to make yourself go...

 Seeing you have control over the speed button on the treadmill, you have to "make yourself go" too.

20mins elliptical
20mins treadmill
20mins weight training

ususally go to gym twice a week

 that's true!

Today I ran for 30 minutes (maybe a mile of walking in there too! I'm running more than I walk now:woot: )
weights (three or four different kinds of exercises there)
30 situps (I did 40 before thanksgiving so now I've gotta work back up again)
200 leg lifts (100 for each leg)
200 side stretch exercises... whew the shower felt great!

Well done Bonchic...it's great when you build up the amount of running!
I did 60 mins on the treadmill,of which 35 mins was running and 25 mins was brisk uphill walking;I unfortunately didn't have time for more.

Question about shoes!! Why are running shoes so ugly??? I need new ones and I've just tried two pairs which feel great but look hideous!! I havem't bought them yet;I'm sleeping on it...

One pair was Nike, and one was ??Mzuna?? or something? the Mzuna-things cost more than the Nikes (130 euros vs 110 euros) and seemed to offer better arch support, but I have never heard of the brand.Oriental,I believe.

Anyone heard of this?

I just need a neutral shoe as I don't pronate/supinate or anything, but I do have flat feet and arch support is welcome LOL.

My feet are very flat. I was just out in Portland visiting a friend that works at Nike doing product testing and someone there suggested the Air Structure Triax 9 for me. I bought them and love them. I find them very comfortable and very supportive.

quirky I wear these Asics GT-2100™ JUNIOR (CN509) with cushioning on the heel! They feel great:woot: And they look better in person. Check out Famous Footwear that's where I always buy my tennies plus I have a membership card to add up points, etc..

Let me know how they felt running. My feet are so flat that some shoes give me blisters on my instep, so I'm always looking for a good pair to try out!

I have this machine, I might break out soon. I haven't joined the gym yet...it's kind of a far walk..
Anyhow, I have this machine that had an infomercial. Maybe you saw it? It's like a mini stepper, no handles or anything, just the stepper and it goes side to side. I am soo lazy though. I think with it being so cold outside, it might feel good to do atleast 20 min.

hour of gym cardio- bike ride later tonight- coaching bball

Skinny dipping in the pool for an hour ... shivering intensely is a great workout ... and of course the drunken sex afterwards

An hour of Powerpump class (kind of step aerobics with weights) and ten minutes running.Slowly breaking in the new shoes.

Marcy,I'm breaking them in gradually but so far they feel really great. I think the important thing when finding a shoe is to have your gait and foot properly assessed in the shop.I don't think you should ever buy running shoes off the net, unless it's a style you know works for you.:flower:
