from wikipedia (my description would have not been this clear)
Bodypump is one of the group fitness classes created by Leslie ("Les") Roy Mills.
Body pump is centred around weightlifting using barbells with adjustable weights. It works the major muscle groups via a series of compound exercises including squats, presses and lifts.
A bodypump session is typically 60 minutes long and consists of exercises that focus on the large muscles of the body. A normal choreography contains ten mainstream hit songs, with each targeting a different muscle group. The muscle groups are always worked in the same order allowing for consitency across releases, as well as the ability for instructors to mix tracks from multiple releases while achieving the same results. The songs are sometimes slightly altered to suit the choreography better.
The choreography of the class is set for a period of three months, thus the class changes four times a year into a new release
other exercises that belong to this same Les Mill's group are Body Combat, which takes moves from kickboxing, boxing etc, and Body Balance which is similar to pilates and yoga, and Body Step which is basically step

i love these classes!
