Daily Exercise

School may as well be called 'the gym'

Walked up 3 flights of stairs, 4+ times
Walked around the corridors, walked to the bus stop, walked through town, walked to my house

yesterday: 1hr cross trainer
today: 50 min cycle class
Has anyone had any really good experiences doing pilates? Im thinking on cutting back on cardio and picking up a class! Thanks in advance!

Maybe somebody else has more info on this...but I think if you do them properly they are beneficial. I have heard they are good for you and bad for you (just like eggs right?), but have been going to the Abs class at my gym and we do a lot of crunches.

As for my workout today- lap swimming again

Situps? Yeah, you can do them, but in moderation. They're better for core strengthening, and crunches are better for cutting and defining. Both are necessary for healthy abs and a stellar six-pack

If you do abs four times a week, one of those sessions and on 15 situps.

I envy you ppl! The most I can get myself to do is 50 mins of fast walking/high incline on the readmill everyday. But I stopped exercising for a week now since my university projects are sucking the life out of me. + I just feel too lazy to go to the gym (I used to though, months ago & it was great @ the time).

good job everybody ^_^ and remember to stay fit even though it's getting cold outside...

where have you been? am i crazy or have you not posted for like, months?

yesterday - ran on Mont Royal for one hour (braved the cold winds and light rain and it felt great!)

Went to the gym tonight, but felt pretty lazy. Did some running in my new Brooks!..stair climbing, and some core work

^ Shoegal2183 how do you find the brooks? Im in desperate need of some new running shoes since my asics are looking very sad and I was thinking of getting my hands on a pair of brooks but have never tried them before!
Only 30mins of light walking today. After a weekend of way too much partying Ive ended up sick! boohoo!

Wednesday: 60' mixed cardio: 35' crosstrainer (is that the same as eliptical?), 15 steep uphill walking, 10' stationery bike

Yesterday: 1h15 mixed cardio: 50' crosstrainer, 25' stationery bike

Today is probably my day off as I'll try for 4 days of working out. On Tuesday I went swimming (only for 30' though as I got there too late and the pool closes at 9pm already) and I'll either go running or to the gym again this weekend.

Great work-out everyone! :flower:

uh huh a crosstrainer is the same as an eliptical :)

today:
20 mins hiit on crosstrainer
10 mins skipping
30 mins upper body weights
plus a few hours walking around shopping!

Im not an exerciser at al..its been 3/4 years since i last did any but Im visiting family in the us this christmas and we live next to a gym and get free membership. Im going to try teach myself how to run because at the moment i go out of breath walking.

I do however do about 200-400 weighted crunches every three days if i can remember because im one of those women with a natural abbsy (keira knightly-esque) tum..so situps just define it more.
YOU NEED resistance with crunches, thats one thing i do know. i balance 2 2kg weights on my stomach as i do the crunches.

thanks kirreway. ;)

missed posting the last couple of days so here's from a few days:

Saturday: 1h run outside
Sunday: 45min eliptical, 30min weights
Today: 60min various cardio

Monday: 1hr crosstrainer
Tues: 50min Cycle class
Today: Just about to hop on the crosstrainer for an hour (I figure if I say Im going to do it on here then I will actually do it hehe)

Monday: 1hr TaeBo (yes people still do it ) followed by 50 crunches, 50 straight leg pilates crunches, 100 oblique twists (50 for each side), 50 push ups, 50 - where you are in a push up position but on your forearms and lowering one knee to the floor at a time, whilst keeping you back straight then pulling them back up (i dont remember what this is called sorry!), 50 reverse crunches when you raise your knees from a 45o angle to a 90o suspended angle...

THEN

I did 1hr of yogalates...

Tuesday: nil
Wednesday: nil

So im using Saturday and Sunday to make up for my missing days... i aim for 5x a week since I'm currently working towards a weightloss goal :)
