Daily Exercise

Hi Juliet!!
I really appreciate girls who work-out with all that boys around them, I think it's hard to do it
Anyway, on Wednesday I went to the gym with a friend -boy- at 3PM and there were no big boys!!! So we could do:
*25min treadmill
*15min stationary bike
*15min elliptical
and then we did the machines!
plus abs and some stretching

I think I'm going to do the machine work only on Wednesdays, and the other days I'm going to do treadmill+bike+elliptical. Do you think it's OK? :flower:

I'm still sore from Wednesday's workout! I wanted to make up for the 30-minute workout on Tuesday so this is what I did:

1 hour of strength training with my personal trainer
30 minutes on the elliptical
15 minutes on the treadmill (3.5 speed with 1.0 incline)
stretching

Kate_Moore - Hi! Sorry for the delay. I haven't visited in a while. Thanks for the kind words. I think the trainer is recommending cardiovascular exercise and strength training, which sounds like a standard and recommended way to exercise. I think that what you have in mind (bike, elliptical, treadmill & swimming) are great ways to build muscle, tone up and get your heart rate up. I can relate to how you feel about exercising around those big guys and so can many others. I don't think that it should bother you because everyone's there to work out. From my experience, people tend to be self-absorbed when they go to the gym unless you talk to them or if you need help. It sounds like you have a nice trainer so I would recommend telling her what you have in mind and that you're a little apprehensive about getting in there when others are around. Professional trainers are used to hearing about these kinds of things, and they're there to help you develop workouts that you'll stick to. I hope that helps. :flower:

Carrme - I do crunches and what my trainer calls "leg lowers." (You lie down on your back while lifting both of your legs up in the air. Then you slowly lower one of your legs to the ground at a time. I hope that makes sense!) I do reps of 12 on each side and I've noticed that my abs are a lot stronger now! :woot:

I used to run.. :innocent:

i think i should do that again.. pff making some time again for that

Novella, you've helped me so much!!
Today I'm going to the gym again and I'll tell it to the trainer, I'm sure she'll understand how I feel about this...:)

I also do Pilates at home, the 20 min work-out and my abs look better after the exercise, and I can feel longer!! So I recommend everybody to try it :flower:.

Today I did:
- Abs, crunches
- Biceps, triceps
- Back
- quads
15 min walking

Kate_moore I'm glad I helped a bit too ^_^ and I think you should also suggest this routine to your trainer, and see what suits your goals and body type best! Good luck :D

whats the fastest way of losing weight??

I do about 30 minutes of running 4 days a week and another 30 minutes if I'm not lazy.. on other cardio machines like biking or ellipticals. Then 300-400 crunches ..a 100 a set with the help of balance ball. I do squats about 3 sets of 10. I also do weights.

Juliet, I want to loose some weight and not gain muscle, so I guess I've to do lots of cardio exercise, and not machines-I think they concentrate the exercise you're doing only in one part of your body and the rest don't do anything.

^ Ah Ok you've got the right idea then. Well some machines do that, some exercise more than one body part. I do machines not to buff up but to improve my posture and maintain some muscle definition. Hehe you're brave to do so much cardio by the way!! That's where I need more energy than I usually have!

Yeah, I'd like to have some muscle definition too but I think with the running it's enough. I've a friend who only walk and run on the threadmill and she's got the best body ever seen, I promise !!

1 hour stationary bike today, some push ups and crunches
yesterday - 18 hours working behind the computer screen

That is also my plan: Pilates + cardio, cardio and cardio :p

15 minutes on the elliptical
15 minutes on the treadmill (3.5 speed with 1.0 incline)
15 minutes on the treadmill (3.4 speed with 3.0 incline)
15 minutes on the bike (5.57 miles :woot: )
stretching
& I walked all the way home from the gym, but I ran an errand on the way

Kate_Moore - I'm so glad that I was able to help you out. :flower: I agree with Juliet; I also think that it's a good idea to talk to your trainer about your workout ideas so she can recommend an effective workout that will help you reach your goals. My main focus is to lose weight as well, but strength training/machines are good for toning. I would recommend doing that at least once a week and doing cardio all the other times... that's what I do. :)

anhphan - I don't think there really is a fast way to lose weight besides sticking to a good cardio workout and eating a healthy diet. I do like your routine though. :) :flower:

Today was cardio day!
- 15 minutes on stationery bike with alternating resistance
- 18 minutes on treadmill speed-walking and jogging, speed from 5.6 to 7.3

Great advice Novella! do you see better results by using an incline on the treadmill or increasing speed?

Yesterday I ran a mile.

Today I'll be doing a lot of walking (going shopping)! ;)

I went to the gym this morning and did :

*10 min on treadmill
*15 min on stationary bike
*5 min on treadmill again
*10 min on elliptical
then did some abs and some stretching :flower:
